Virginia boy who shot teacher Abigail Zwerner told another he wanted to set her on fire (pic of the boy released)

A 6-year-old who shot his teacher allegedly told another educator he wanted to light her on fire and watch her die, according to a report.

Last month, the troubled boy nearly made good on his apparent murderous impulses, shooting first grader teacher Abigail Zwerner at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News., Va., officials have said. Zwerner survived.

Zwerner and other Richneck teachers said they had shared their fears about the child’s grave behavior with administrators, only to have their concerns downplayed or ignored, The Washington Post reported.

Zwerner had asked for support with the boy, and expressed concerns about his behavior, teachers wrote in online messages to Newport News Superintendent George Parker III.

Abigail Zwerner was reportedly finally released from the hospital this week. “She had asked for help,” one school staff member wrote in the chat.

“Several times,” another added.

The child, who was known to throw furniture and other objects in the classroom, once wrote a note to a teacher in which he told her hated her, wanted to set her on fire to kill her, the teachers union told The Washington Post. When she brought the disturbing letter to school administrators, they told her to drop it, according to the teacher.

More and more people are pulling their kids out of public schools,

That's the only way. As with Social Security and Medicare, the American people are too soft, too cowardly, and too addicted to socialism to enact real reforms. Get out of the system, and let it crash.

I never understood that when this kind of evil is known some adults close to the situation don’t have the gutts [sic] to step forward and kill off these evil people.

There was a time when a hunting accident would solve the problem.

I agree except id be more precise

Black group behavior issues are not due to having black skin

It’s due to how too many act

Worldwide similarly and unlike most here I spent most of my life in all black or close environs world wide

All that said

Folks here calling for hanging a six year old need to look inside themselves a bit

I wonder what percentage here have children

Only thing I know about free republic 2023

WE ARE MOSTLY NOW OLD AF

lord I was 42 when I started here in fall 2000

And I’d say then 30s to 50s was norm

I can’t believe the parents are saying that the gun was “secure”. In what? A gallon Zip Lock bag? Geez.

My daughter is an elementary teacher in Virginia. She tells me that many kids are out of control. Some have multiple aids assigned to monitor them full time. The teachers are in a war zone type atmosphere and the stress of that is causing teachers to retire and concerned parents to move.

She points to Covid closings as the main cause,

She is considering leaving a job she loves and is good at for an office position.

we can do the same...

separate as much as possible and associate only with like minded people.....there may not be many but there are some.....

Get out of the system, and let it crash.

But I don’t think it is going to crash. As I pointed out, ‘free’ public education is embedded in state constitutions. Getting it out of state constitutions is very unlikely. If fewer kids attend, parents will be less inclined to vote for local school tax/bond increases, but the public schools will still be supported financially by the state—legislators will have no choice since it is mandated by the state’s constitution.

Public education can be made better by locals, whether they have kids in school or not, voting in school boards who reflect their values. (Although publicly challenging current school boards may get one on an FBI watch list).

But this doesn’t change the circumstances that started this thread; the kid who shot the teacher is protected from consequences of his act by state law that limits the prosecution of very young kids, and federal laws designed to protect the rights of the handicapped in public schools—again I don’t know if he had an IEP, but I’ll bet you he did.

"The criminal justice system is full of adults who were brain damaged by their mothers and their home life "

oh so daddy gets a pass?.....go talk to those two boys who were sodomized by their "daddies" down in Atlanta...

yes, the criminal justice system is full of adults with some kind of brain damage but for every one of them I suspect there are 100x the number of people who have bad homes and some kind of brain damage that live good lives, that don't become violent....

and sadly in this case that kid LEARNED to hate whites and that is racism...

Kid threatens teachers, school shrugs. But, by God, if a kid dares to kiss another, the cops are called and the handcuffs come out.

Individual children frequently acting out violently is not difficult to document. My career elementary school teacher family members have often stated that fact.

With the growth of violence depicted in cinema, video games and TV, as well as the increasing emphasis by politicians on creating factions within society; the spectres of reeducation camps and worse are looming. Jails are inadequate for housing the coming masses of violent offenders.

There’s a reason why they’re letting millions of kids over the border.

“Kid threatens teachers, school shrugs. But, by God, if a kid dares to kiss another, the cops are called and the handcuffs come out.”

Please note, I’m not excusing this, but rather explaining how/why such things happen.

The kid who threatened teachers was already throwing furniture about the classroom endangering the teacher and other kids. This is why I’m sure he had an IEP. Believe it or not there is a thing called Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) and if a kid has been diagnosed with it, he cannot be punished by the school unless they want to have to settle things in a court-like setting.

Now if a normal kid tries to kiss a little girl, that’s viewed as a type of sexual assault and must be, again according to Federal regulations/laws be dealt with severely—unless the kid in question has an IEP for that kind of thing.

Don’t believe me? The kid who raped a classmate in Virginia had an IEP and was transferred to another school where he raped again. The father of the first rape victim was arrested at a school board meeting for objecting to this.

Not only do we find ourselves living in a crazy world, but the law as it now exists demands that we go along with the insanity.

His parents stated he has a mental issue/disability and the school was aware. It will come out in time. We should reserve judgement until all the facts are in. Y’all can say it’s because he’s black but 99% of sociopathic killers and serial killers are white middle class men. Same with Pedophiles.
