Top Republican Pollsters Say ‘Don’t Be Fooled, Trump Strong As Ever’
American Lookout ^ | December 24, 2022 | Mike LaChance

If you listen to the liberal media, you would probably think that Trump is out, and down for the count.

Two top Republican pollsters are saying this is flatly untrue.

This isn’t a knock at Ron DeSantis or any other Republican, just a glimpse of where things are right now.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Don’t be fooled, Trump ‘strong as ever,’ say top pollsters

You’ve seen the polls, in Secrets and elsewhere, touting the emergence of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and others challenging former President Donald Trump, the only Republican who has announced a bid for the 2024 GOP primary so far.

They come at a time when the former president is under fire in many corners but still standing and punching back.

Now two of the nation’s leading Republican pollsters who have strong ties to Trump are explaining why he remains “as strong as ever” to take the nomination and beat President Joe Biden.

John and Jim McLaughlin, who run McLaughlin & Associates, recently released their poll that shows the former president ahead of DeSantis 48%-23%, just as popular as he was on Election Day last month, and leading Biden 48%-45%.

Here at Secrets, we write a lot about polls and have highlighted many about the DeSantis surge, especially after his blockbuster reelection last month. While it’s still over a year before the first caucus or primary, they all give a suggestion for how the candidates are doing among voters but shouldn’t be taken as the last word.

What’s different about the McLaughlin poll, John McLaughlin told us, is that it is tougher with the sample it uses. It tries to whittle down its sample to those most likely to vote instead of a bigger vat that may include some who’ve never voted.

McLaughlin tries to stay away from anti-Trump bias in many media polls. And finally, it replicates the Democrat-to-Republican percentage of more recent elections.

The 2024 election is a long way off and things could change at any time.

We are all just going to have to wait and see.

for a short time I was open to DeSantis, but then I saw who I’d be sharing the bed with.

Trump has been at the forefront of popular culture since the early 1980’s. That in and of itself explains why he is still popular and a legitimate threat to be re-elected.

Trump can likely get nominated but he cannot win over enough voters to return to the White House. He’s destroyed himself

Only conservative chumps will vote for a Uniparty greaseball in 2024.

Real conservatives will go elsewhere, avoiding the stench of The Backstab Party.

He is he’s proved what he can achieve for the country and have had enough of the democrat way.
It’s far to risky to chance another path other than Trump.

He hasn’t destroyed himself. America has destroyed itself for voting for communists(Mostly Dems and Assistant Dems(GOPe) over and over.

Having said that, I agree with the rest of your statement but I also doubt any Republican can win again for that matter.

25 percent or more of the electoral base [ALL voters] are small-government Perot type voters.

If Trump woke up only a quarter of those people to the shenanigans of The Backstab Party, that's a mighty divot in the turnout of the conservative-Republican coalition.

I'm done voting for GOPee pukes.

This means that I’s and/or working class Ds are breaking for Trump, which, outside of the primaries, is what really matters.

Spot on analysis. I’ve got several high level state political campaign managers as friends - some for over 40 years - what they feel and hear from constituents mirrors your words perfectly.

I voted for President Trump enthusiastically twice. Worked on his second run making calls and knocking on doors. Donated far above the reporting max both times.

MAGA is patriotism given an acronym- it’s not a cult. It’s time for new patriots to step up and lead. Lots of politicians thru history have had huge rallies that did not turn into stable leadership.

Of course, the idea of fair elections in the US has become a quaint memory- as long as Trump is the candidate, the DS will ensure his loss. I loathe the concept of another Biden term, but if Trump is the nominee that will indeed be the outcome. Bank in it.

IDGAF what the cultists say. The leftist system of making enough accusations to destroy a candidate has worked. Our only hope is a new candidate to show the Independents exactly how the left repeats its playbook. Those of us in here need to remember that we follow politics, but most voters do not.

Most voters only care about getting their pork and entitlements. It’s as simple as that.

As Things go south, Trump is looking better and better with the people. His numbers are really increasing with the only folks that count—The Independents— We must stop thinking of Trump as a Republican—he isn’t. He is a populist, a MAGA branch of the Republican party, the roots go back to the Tea Party. Look what the Uni-party did to the likes of Sarah Palin? Glen Beck (even when he joined the Never Trumpers), and others. No, Trump isn’t a Bush, a Rockefeller (even if he’s rich) or a Romney. He is more like a Reagan (who was hated and mocked by the powers that be in life). History is not done with Trump as more and more data comes out that the election was in whole or part—a cheat. Why support a nation for the rich liberals, by the rich liberals, that shall never end?

Doesn’t matter. It’s all fun and games to keep pollsters employed.
Between the squishy low-info suburbanites who listen to the mockingbird media propaganda about “hate” and “meanness”, the under 40 women who want abortions up until their water breaks, and the indoctrinated Gen Z’s who are insulated from any consequences of their virtue signaling, a Biden-Fetterman ticket would win a national election.
Add the banana republic vote counting system now entrenched in the Democrat controlled swing states, the best we on the right can hope for in national politics are narrow House/Senate majorities now and then that are still dependent on RINO votes to pass anything.
All that’s left is to Balkanize, fortify the red areas the best we can, and hope when the whole rotten, unsustainable system collapses, we can restore what has been lost to the Marxists and globalists.

JFK, Jr is still out there . I read a lot of this on Q .

I’m sure you did. Since Hillary being arrested was Q’s first post, which led to the hysteria, why did that never happen? Did you also trust Sessions, and Rosenstein, and Wray, as Q directed? Or was misleading everyone just part of the overall brilliant plan, and you don’t mind playing the part of a sucker?

It’s not just GOP backstabbers who don’t support him. I don’t either. In fact, I’m betting he doesn’t win the majority vote in the PA primary. Why? Because he screwed this state. The honest truth is, he won’t win a second term. If he had shut up an humbled himself, yes, but he’s engendered enough hatred that he will not win again. The fault is not external. He alienated rock solid supporters like me. So, he can take a hike. I don’t want to see him run again because it guarantees a second Biden term.

NO, he has not destroyed himself. He is destroying his deep state opposition. And doing a good job at it.

Sadly... The Republican party has destroyed itself. And Trump has become the new Ross Perot of the Republican party. The Republicans are doomed, the left-wing Socialist are ecstatic... And Democracy will continue it’s sad and steady decline in America.

Nobody is enjoying this infighting more than the leftist Democrats and the best thing Trump can do to eliminate this nonsense is to step aside, become a king maker rather than a divider, and unite the Republican party to defeat Democrats.

Instead... He’s prolonging the schism and creating doubt and suspicion among those who should be supporting the eventual Republican nominee. Many of those who favour this continued discontent aren’t even true Republicans... They are extreme right wing zealots with their own twisted agenda’s. Their end game is anybody’s guess, but democracy and freedom isn’t their primary concern. They are zealots who long for chaos and confusion and to what end, who knows.

Trump (who was never a Democrat or Republican to begin with) has a chance to make himself great by being magnanimous rather than self-centered. By doing so, he may save democracy as the world had formerly known it prior to the Covid hoax... Will he do that... We can only hope.

I agree with this.

He has surrounded himself with yes men, and he sounds like a broken record.

His positions aren’t current. He’s campaigning on 2016 issues in 2023.

Aside from that, I’m just tired of him and don’t give a crap anymore. All I can do at this point is prepare and train for physical combat, I’m afraid.
