The accrediting council for the American Bar Association (ABA) voted 15-1 to no longer require the administering of the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) for law school applications.

Yo dog, my dude ain’t do nuffin’, nomsayin’?
Interesting. I thought the whole purpose of the standardized tests was to eliminate discrimination in school admissions by establishing uniform standards and testing applicants without regard to race, gender, etc.
That's racist!
“Mr. Hart, here’s a dime. Call you mother and tell her you’re not going to be a lawyer because you’re not ‘diverse’ enough.”
That’s what irritates me the most about this. They do not even consider the collateral damage of these ridiculous policies. I don’t know what the solution to the problem of blacks not being able to keep up with white people on an intellectual level is, but dumbing down the entire country is not it.
“pay their tuition”........maybe not
Next they will do away with grades, as well. Law schools will issue JD degrees based upon participation only.
It’s “axin”, just FYI…
AA?
That’s an unfortunate set up for a lot of law students to wash out but still hold student loans.
The LSAT is to law like organic chemistry is to medicine. It screens out a lot of students who will never complete.
“We should welcome their elimination, for whatever the reason.”
Okay. I would love to see you explain to a white person with an IQ of 120 why his law school seat will be given to a 90 IQ black person, because that is the only reason the tests are being eliminated.
“So can I start calling myself a lawyer even though I have no degree in law?”
Well, Clarence Darrow never graduated from law school.
They are already doing it for pilots.
Watch for increased incidents.

Medical schools and medical societies are discarding traditional standards of merit in order to alter the demographic characteristics of their profession. That demolition of standards rests on an a priori truth: that there is no academic skills gap between whites and Asians, on the one hand, and blacks and Hispanics, on the other. No proof is needed for this proposition; it is the starting point for any discussion of racial disparities in medical personnel. Therefore, any test or evaluation on which blacks and Hispanics score worse than whites and Asians is biased and should be eliminated.
The unintended consequence of this decision is more people will discriminate against black lawyers than less.
I predict an uptick in the near future of cases where criminals are contesting that their government-provided lawyers provided bad council.
Yes, after progressives Federalized education, like everything else after WWII.
You’re right. If you’re only educating people capable of doing the job it’s a much smaller pool.
This way the Education Establishment can totally ruin the lives of minority students by putting them in debt for years - then into a profession they’ll likely fail at... The reason for the tough test is it’s tough profession.
Affirmative Action.
LSAT is useful because it genuinely keeps dumb people from wasting their time. I know a dude who has taken the bar 3 or more times (I think there’s a limit and he hit it) and just can’t hack it. He got accepted by some black law school where nobody ever passes the bar either. His LSAT score was very very low (unlike mine which was very very high, cuz I’m awesome like that).
Removing it just means they’re either going to have to make the bar exam easier or abolish it. Because you can pass all your exams just like he did but still can’t pass the bar despite spending thousands on special bar classes, books, practice questions, and hours and hours of constant studying.
I mean, a normal person could. But when you’re too dumb it’s not possible no matter how hard you work at it.
