This will give impetus to cheating us out of the house one remaining district at a time.

Can you believe CO 3 with Boebert??? Doesn’t look like the tally has changed for well over 24 hours with 99 percent in. They took the weekend off?

Trump: SOTH! now we’re talking. I suggested that at least a year ago as one way to get the cleanup started. And, boy, do we need to get it started. Impeachment of Bidum is most likely off the table but with the Trumpster already living in his head I can see way more time at the beach dacha.

No Republican representative would dare commit political suicide by voting against Trump. Oh, how electing Trump as Speaker of the House would make those liberal heads explode!
Poor Kevin McCarthy. Poor Liz Cheney.

Where are the 238 voted to make Trump Speaker going to come from? Democrats are going to have about 215 of them. It would only take 25 Republicans, give or take, to vote Trump down.

First Ballot: Trump 50, McCarthy 167, Pelosi 218 (all Democrats + 4 RINOs desperate to save “our democracy”).

Congratulations, Madame Speaker.

How many times does Trump have to say he doesn’t want it?

My guess is the democrats aren’t likely to pick Trump considering their opinion of him.

Why 238 ? 218 for house majority, which the majority usually agrees upon and confirms. Would a Romney confirm ? He’s up in ‘24..

You may be thinking of 538....the number of electoral votes, meaning 269 EVs ties making 270 the magic number.

But, I’m wondering why 538 . 435 reps + 100 senators = 535.

I’ve forgotten, does Puerto Rico, Guam, + one more territory get EVs.

Why 238

Because there are 435 members of the House who vote for Speaker.

218 for house majority, which the majority usually agrees upon and confirms

.Usually. If someone put Trump up as Speaker it wouldn't take more than a handful of Republicans to vote against him.

Would a Romney confirm ? He’s up in ‘24..

Romney is in the Senate. The Speaker is in the House.

Does Trump have the savvy and wherewithall about the legislative process, the Speaker’s job function, and House committees to be an effective Speaker? Does he have the “people skills” to rally other representitives to his cause?
Seems Trump ruled by “the stick” rathe than sing “the carrot” approach. Just raising this question since Trump’s ability to get legislation passed as President wasn’t great, plus his ability to “build the wall” which he promised was not done as we all should know with the millions of illegals now pouring across the border. Is Trump familiar enough with the details of House function to gather the reigns of government and advance a unified conservative agenda? I question if he could do the job well. And having a novice like Trump in that particular important position might be a disaster. Trump was a good president in some respects don’t get me wrong, he did well with executive orders, and with foreign policy, but legislation? Not so much. I viewed President Trump as a great “Big Picture” kind of guy, and maybe not so much as a “Detail Oriented” person. I’m not attacking him here, don’t get me wrong, just raising these questions if the House Speakership is the right position for him.
