Trump thinks announcing a 2024 run now could distract from the January 6 hearings, a report says. Some Republicans worry he could hurt them in the midterms.

President Donald Trump could be planning to make an unusually early announcement of his plans to run for president, but not all Republicans are convinced it would be the right move for the party.

Trump has long teased a 2024 White House run and has continued to hold campaign-style rallies, all while stopping short of saying definitively if he plans to enter the race. However, recent revelations from the House Select committee's hearings on the January 6 insurrection are impacting his plans, according to a report from The New York Times.

Now, Trump is considering announcing a run far earlier than expected, possibly even this month, in part as an attempt to distract from the hearings, the outlet reported.

republicans in the midterms.

“Some Republicans” has a stink about it.

Trump needs to stop talking 2020 and start talking fuel prices, inflation and the border.

Absolutely 100%.

He's starting to sound like that one friend who will never shut up about his ex-wife who divorced him two years ago. At first you felt bad for him because she was a real bitch who totally screwed him over but eventually, you don't even want to hang out with him anymore because you're tired of hearing him drone on and on about how unfair it all was.

1) no one cares about Jan 6th 2) Trump has massive in party approval and thusly won’t hurt other Republicans during the Mid-terms.

“Some Republicans worry he could hurt them in the midterms.”

Yes, looking at his success rate with endorsements, that’s for the case ...NOT!

Face it, that’s all Trump really has. Sour grapes.

You're on the wrong forum. See that pile of horse manure to your left (maybe to your right)? That's DU. That's where you belong.

“Would announcing early steal the thunder from the January 6 hearing crap?”

Don’t make the mistake of assuming that the impact of the January 6 hearing derives from a legitimate concern of the American people. It is solely a media driven concern, (remember the nasal whine of Chris Wallace) and WHATEVER move Trump makes will be attacked, sabotaged, ambushed, twisted, and distorted by the usual culprits, including back stabbing by Republican Trump haters.

Wait til after midterms. Let it play out. Most of us are probably sure he is running anyway.

Declaring now would definitely end the debate over the hold that Trump has on the party and his future electability.

If he runs now and the GOP gets their clocked cleaned in the midterms because it's been shown that he was a drag on the party, then he's finished and will likely lose the primaries in 2024.

If he declares now and Republicans win, including many of those in tight races who he endorsed, then it's smooth sailing for Trump to 2024 and it's unlikely he'd face any serious primary challenge.

If he lays low until after the primaries, then what?

“If he announces before the midterms it’ll be yet another “me first” decision by the king of “me first” decisions.”

Go crawl back under your rock and finish your diet of worms.

I learned long ago NOT to trust anything any venue that has “Insider” attached to its name, period.

Yeah; this sounds like typical Nazi/Marxist/Democrat propaganda from the corrupt media where no lie is too big or too outlandish anymore.

What the hell you think he has been talking about? Nobody cares about 2020. You need to pop your head out of your ass.

Maybe you don’t care but millions of us care about 2020 and are enraged daily as we see an illegitimate imposter coming to and fro as he and his puppet masters destroy our country. What do you expect to see left standing in 2024?

The election fraud is in full swing right now in 2022. If you are believing the red wave fairy tale you are likely in for disappointment come November. What chance will Trump have in 2024. The answer is none.

2020 has to be fixed and Trump has to be reinstated. The Biden regime has to be removed. Otherwise there will never be another real election.
