Can DeSantis bring in 15,000 at a rally like Trump can?

Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders had huge rallies as well.

Trump did great things on the economy and foreign policy, and as we have just seen he gave us a conservative Supreme Court. But he failed badly on covid. If given a choice, I will probably choose DeSantis over Trump, but that doesn’t erase my gratitude to Trump for his good work.

I think the governor of Florida is a four year term and the election is this year. So that’s out to 2026.

So that gives DeSantis two years to fund-raise and prepare, which is about the amount of time he needs for 2028.

He’s already said he intends to serve two terms as governor.

So get ready for Trump-DeSantis rallies in six years, it should be wild.

If Trump wants to be President again, he’ll have to show us that he has learned from his mistakes in the past. The swamp outsmarted him. Only a few guys he could trust (Mike Pompeo, etc). Plus Trump is getting old. He needs to show us that he has the stamina by campaigning on the trail.

We’re in agreement on DeSantis. A second Trump term would be great, but possibly not doable. I’d love to goad a FB frenemy that Trump was the first man since FDR to be elected three times.

Why is The Hill trying to do a Trump/DeSantis comparison?
Neither one has committed to running.

I lived in FL for 25 years and expected it to go blue at some point because I saw it as a mini California. Multicultural, warm weather, beaches, movie stars have homes there, Universal moved in.

2020 was close, 30k votes close. Just saw a tweet this morning on voter registration. Repub is 1 million higher than dem so I guess FL is safely red for a while.

If it wasn’t for 9 month summers, high cost of living and the fast pace, I’d think about moving back. Gawd I hated being tailgated all the time.

I lived in Ctrl FL. Commuted I-4 for a few years at a time, a few times over the years. Did it on a motorcycle for 4-5 months. Casselberry to the Citrus Bowl area. Had a truck mirror brush my handlebar once on I-4.

The Hill is saying out loud what most of the Deep State is thinking - how can a wedge be driven between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, so they will battle each other to a standstill, and let the Establishment Republican slip through the cracks and become the Republican nominee, i.e., designated loser?

A fine concept, in theory, but with one caveat, that DeSantis could be persuaded to run against Trump if Trump should express interest in getting the nomination once again. Trump is still the biggest alpha in the room, DeSantis is Plan B IF Trump should choose not to run.

“Another feeble attempt to divide the base, more like.”

Exactly. More BS to try to claim DeSantis is at odds with Trump and he is NOT.

More like retarded propaganda.

Trump’s problem is not the primary or the general election so much … but the fraud. Our side was not successful in doing much about that. Thus I suspect the dems will go all out with little to stop them.

If DeSantis can quickly clear the field of other contenders and go head to head with Trump, he has a good chance.

Otherwise, Trump will win a plurality against a divided field.

This Keith Naughty is living up to his name spreading rubbish like this. What Keithie needs to understand is that either Trump or DeSantis (or both) would win in a landslide - if the election was honest. But with democturds involved, and in bed with the vote counters, I hardly think that the upcoming election will be honest.

A second Trump term would be great, but possibly not doable.

We have to be honest with ourselves. The Left hates Trump and they will mobilize their voters (and cheat) purely out of spite. Fair? No. But this is the hand we were dealt with.

Regarding DeSantis, the intensity against him is not there yet. Perhaps after 4 years, the Left will hate DeSantis as much as Trump. But right now DeSantis is still new (sort of) and at this point, it is an advantage.

Biden-Trump match? I think it'll be 50-50.

DeSantis? I think he has a 70% chance of winning. Democrats may be more likely to force Biden to drop out. Replace him with a different candidate. (Gavin Newsom, anybody?)

“I’d love to goad a FB frenemy that Trump was the first man since FDR to be elected three times.”

Richard Nixon was the first man since FDR to be elected President three times: 1960, 1968 and 1972.

2020 wasn’t the first time a Republican was frauded out of the presidency.

It would not be DiSantis v Trump. It would be Trump v DiSantis and the entire arrayed capabilities of big tech, big media and big government. The media have been very successful in helping to select the Republican nominee over the years. As much as the left and DC despise DiSantis, he’s a mild irritant to them compared to Adolf Trump.

Florida’s nice again.

DeSantis made conservatives welcome from lock-down states and they moved here. Gillum didn’t do his party any favors - he was trash then (when he ran against DeSantis) and is trash now.

Coolest thing is our young people are Republican - we’ll be red for a long time.
