Walmart has apologized for its controversial “Juneteenth” ice cream as pictures began to circulate over the weekend, and it plans to remove items “as appropriate” in response to the backlash.
Pictures of Great Value’s Juneteenth “celebration edition” ice cream began to circulate across social media over the weekend. President Biden signed a bill last year establishing Juneteenth National Independence Day, commemorating the end of slavery.

What was the problem with the ice cream?
Walmart didn’t give it away free?
More attempt at division.
The party can’t survive without it.
Because nothing says culture, pride, and enduring hope than a quart of cheap ice cream?

Nope. Juneteenth has been a holiday in Texas since I was a child. Unlike Kawanza it isn’t made up. And the emancipation of slaves is as good a reason to have a holiday as I can think of.
It’s been a legit Texas celebration for decades....
And a good reason to have ice cream.

The Ice Cream was a rip off version of another ice cream flavor that Wally sells. The original version is made by a black owned company. Wally made their own identical version and labeled it as Juneteenth, the Creamalicious Company makes the original.
I’ve heard it referred to as many names over my lifetime:
Juneteenth
Black Independence Day
Emancipation Day
Jubilee Day
etc
I really don’t give a damn what formal name was chosen on the legislation that declared it a national holiday... honestly anyone that has an issue with celebrating the end of slavery in the United States has some serious issues.
When California’s White Populace dropped below 50%,
Governor Gray Davis held a celebration on the lawn
of the Capital Building in Sacramento.
Look at how it is today, with Whites being trashed via the
CRT, the media, and the government.
Imagine what it would be like, if the Representatives in
Congress were more than 50% traditional minorities, and
the White House were under the control of someone like
Obama.
It would take less than 12 hours after inauguration for
things to get very very very ugly.
What a croc! Next thing you know chocolate ice cream will be banned. You’re a racist if you tease a black guy, who emulates Jackie Robinson, with the name Jackie.
I grew up in the south. Some of my best friends were from humble black families in the rural area I grew up in. They knew their history and I knew it as well. What we all celebrated then was our Christian and American heritage. Christmas, 4th of July, Vet and Memorial Day, etc. I never heard such bemoaning over what was in the past. Now all you hear is about how tough it was to come from slavery when no one today ever experienced it. Just an excuse for attention.
I am hearing from Texas Freepers this ‘Juneteenth’ was a Texas holiday. Fine. Let it be a Texas holiday then.
I have no issue with people celebrating whatever they want, as long as it doesnt impose on me. But like the LGBT++++ stuff, this is one more step of ‘in your face’ on the way to reparations BS when its elevated to a national level.
When a group of people (such as black Americans are) stand up to and solve their own problems (crime, looting, BLM rioting, drugs, having kids out of marriage and single parenting, etc, etc), then I might have more enthusiasm for celebrating THEIR ANCESTORS freedom.
And I am not racists.

No need to imagine. That was the reality on January 21, 2020.
I grew up in Texas. Went to Texas public schools 1st thru 12th grade.
I never heard of it.....
Is this a micro aggressions? Because everything anyone does is fodder for the outrage machine.
I have no issue celebrating the end of slavery, but I want one more national holiday for the future.
I want to celebrate the end of the current racist abomination against white people and Asians.
It is called Affirmative Action.
We need to end it.
Then we need to celebrate the day we ended it.
Creamalicious didn’t invent Red Velvet Cheesecake ice cream. Other companies make it just as lots make a Butter Pecan; and there are recipes for it all over the Web. It’s been around a while.
NOW I feel like CELEBRATING!!
