The mad hatter theme is now becoming conventional wisdom among some of the foreign policy elite and media.
Spurred on by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who said the Russian president was "erratic" and increasingly "delusional, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who called Russia’s leader "unhinged," many in the foreign policy establishment have embraced the notion that only a mad man would put his nation’s nuclear forces on alert after invading a neighboring state, claiming self-defense.

Yup, you are right.
Volodymy Zelensky, back from the Russophobia-drenched Munich Security Conference where he was hailed like a Messiah, saying that the 1994 Budapest memorandum should be revised and Ukraine should be nuclear-rearmed.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again... US should stay the hell out of it.
But we also shouldn’t be given the KGB thug free headspace either.
And you don’t “fix” a Ukraine by marauding through the country like Mongols.
"Russophobia" was proven correct with Putin's crazy invasion.
Nope.. wrong again. What’s really disappointing is FReepers like yourself who hook to the bandwagon of a Russian dictator who by the way doesn’t give two sh*ts about the “NWO” or any other boogeyman issue you conspiracy theorists glom onto.
I’ll bet you’ve never had a conversation with anyone from Eastern Europe who had to live under Russian occupation. You’d likely dismiss anything they’d tell you about the brutality of it as NWO propaganda.
I truly thought you were better than that. Damn, was I wrong.
Is your price for what you believe a video that shows nothing but has text saying that Russians shot a civilian?
If you are going to be controlled set your price higher.
Because many know that the issue isn’t so simple minded. It is easy to think in terms of black and white, I’ll grant that. But if you want to believe in the truth then it requires you put aside the lazy/simplistic views.
When the US blockaded Cuba and prepared to invade it, was it the aggressor? Or was it a reasonable response to the positioning of a military threat against the US? Not black/white.
For those that have been tracking it, we’ve seen an absurd and illogical stance toward Russia starting from the day they overthrew Marxism and bent over backward to befriend us. They provided any KGB files the US wanted. The people of Russia wanted closer ties to the US, who they admired. They even worked with the US to cut down their nuclear forces.
We (Clinton, et all), in response, bombed their ally for reasons that had no US national interested, cutting those leaders in Russia off at the knees. The US then maneuvered economic and pipeline issues that threatened Russia. Then, inexplicable, NATO started moving Eastward even though the enemy (the USSR) didn’t exist anymore. Russia has for 10 years now, consistently and clearly, been saying that they can not tolerate a hostile force on their border, just as they would not expect the US to tolerate a hostile force based in Mexico or Canada.
Add to this that all evidence is that the US pushed the overthrow of the Ukrainian government in 2014. Like the red/blue areas in the US, Eastern Ukraine were the votes that put that government in power. As a result of that, the reality that the Ukraine had just disbanded as a country, and the fact that they were Russians put on the wrong side of a administrative line left over from USSR times, the east broke away. As Americans our founding principal is that when a government threatens life, liberty, you have a right/duty to form new system. They did this. Ukraine then spent the last 8 years with 65,000 soldiers attacking (and killing) these people who have a right to live in freedom and peace.
If we had a group of historic Americans living in an enclave physically next to us who were being attacked by Chinese country do you not think the citizens of this country would feel we should protect them?
So yeah, the Russians are the aggressor in the exact same way France attacked the Boston area of England during the 1770’s. The US won that war so we get to write in the history books that the French were friends who valued our goal for freedom and independence.
You can be for, or against, what Russia does, but to simplify it down to “they are bad”, “we are good” is missing virtually everything that has occurred for 30 years.
Nope.
Why do you think the pro-Russian garbage you subscribe to is accurate? Why do you support that Mongol thug Putin?
Nice theories.
Have you ever had an in-depth discussion with someone who had to live under Russian occupation?
The story will shift quickly. When Communist China takes Taiwan, Putin will be yesterdays news.
Thanks, will check it out
I did not take the video personally... Even that would be called into question by those who have already made up their minds.
What are your criteria for proof? Have you applied them to what YOU already believe? If not, keep your teeth together...
Wrong... The Russians are the aggressor here the same way Iraq was when they attack Kuwait.
Piss poor excuses for hegemony and expansion of territory.
Period.
Those are not Russian soldiers. Pretty sure they are azov/Ukrainian
outside of mariupol, where they were stopping fleeing civilians and killing them.
I am having a friend check me on this though and I will let you know.
They are not Russians. I am getting it checked but I think this is from the Ukrainian Aviv who were stopping cars leaving Mariupol.
Good. Rather than donate your keyboard skills getting civilians killed, why don’t you get off your butt and go help them fight. You won’t because you don’t care about Ukraine.
That’s cute. My opposition to Putin “gets civilians killed,” eh? You’ve got it completely backwards.
No. You’re posting of propaganda encouraging g civilians to fight is what’s getting them killed. Learn to read.
