Ukraine and Putin: Russian leader is not crazy, he's consistent
Fox news ^ | 03/01/2022 | Judith Miller

Posted on 03/01/2022 1:03:21 PM PST by ChicagoConservative27

The mad hatter theme is now becoming conventional wisdom among some of the foreign policy elite and media.

Spurred on by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who said the Russian president was "erratic" and increasingly "delusional, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who called Russia’s leader "unhinged," many in the foreign policy establishment have embraced the notion that only a mad man would put his nation’s nuclear forces on alert after invading a neighboring state, claiming self-defense.

Not sure why the propaganda to make it seem like this is something new.

Ask the CIA, they control the news narrative in our country.

and long time being - since at least the 1974 Frank Church Committee exposure of Operation Mockingbird.

I don’t think Putin is perfect, or even better than anyone else in the Western nations. What he is though, is a Nationalist. I respect that, and wish we had about 400 of them in the US Congress, and 80 in the Senate, as well as a Nationalist President. I don’t love him, or support him. I do respect him though.

Added opinion, how can we trust British intelligence telling us who Putin has poisoned? Are they honest brokers? I would believe they are just about as honest as Clapper, Brennan, Mueller or Peter Struck Stroke Smirk is.

What is considered commonly held facts, to me seem to be just another guys propaganda. It has not always been so, but propaganda as news became a thing during the Second World War, and is now at a Soviet pitch even in the West.

Frankly, I don’t trust ours, and I don’t trust Theirs.

Even our Militarys highest leaders are prone to the biggest lies. Is there any bigger lie than a boy can be a girl and vice versa? Or, I guess that women would make fine ground troops? How about mixed boys and girls on carriers, assorted ships, and even submarines? Throw in the openly queer, illegals, foreigners from Afghanistan to Somalia. Yep, this is “the best and the brightest” we can field in a pinch. So says the Pentagon and every notable elected idjit in the State houses to the White House.

Follow me boys, we are going to learn how to walk in high heels, was a really great picture. Recruiting for the trannies must have went through the roof that day.

Ask the CIA, they control the news narrative in our country.

Tell me about it. I am listening to the claxton decrying "Putin the Insane" rending the air so loudly that I cannot think, much less think straight.

There is no way to understand what any of this the memes are trying to tell me except that only a lunatic would threaten nuclear weapons if he doesn't get what he wants.

This rings from every organ of the news and the state so loudly that it has to come from some cental meme generator. I am not sure what I am to make of it.

The one position I am not allowed to have is that maybe we should understand what has driven Putin to this stage of desparation, did we bear any responsibility for it, and what can we do.

Hoping that nuclear armageddon does not happen, I understand, is a better plan than trying to assign accountability and fix the problem.

I am so glad we have smart people running the organs of public information.

You got a copy of Russia’s battle plans? We’d all like to see it.

Putin didn’t get where he is by being emotionally unstable or stupid.

Your leaders are wise and Putin is insane. Please repeat that 100 times.

Then Ukrainians are war criminals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJKbLHLdGaA

It a consistent truth that in conflicts every errant shell (cause artillery shells can go in the wrong place) is proof of one side or the other wanting to kill all the civilians. It just adds noise to a discussion.

If you step back and look at the conflict, Russia has done none of the infrastructure destruction that the US typically does when it invades a country. NOT criticizing our military approach, just pointing out that Russia is clearly attempting to minimize it.

“We’ve been hearing for 5 days that civilians were taking up arms and fighting back. I guess that was BS too.”

Not necessarily. But they can only do so much.

(1974 Frank Church)

Didn’t know it was his committee. I remember reading about the gun he was holding.

AGREE
I received this honest summation from just a regular Ukrainian citizen:

“Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine
We didn’t have much hope that negotiations can be constructive. Russia is set on the course to destroy us as a country, to take away our independence, to submit us under their control. We are set on a course to stay a free, democratic, independent country and clear our land of dirty aggressors.

Ukraine came to negotiations only with ONE demand:
1) Russia to remove ALL troops from Ukraine, including occupied Crimea and regions of Eastern Ukraine.
Here are Russian demands and my simple explanation why those can not acceptable to Ukraine.

2) Ukraine to recognize Russian sovereignty over Crimea
- Crimea is a territory of Ukraine that Russia annexed in 2014. They have conducted an illegal referendum under gunpoint to prove that people wanted that region to join Russia. Even if the results of the referendum were true, the referendum itself was illegal. Crimea is still considered by the civilized world a part of Ukraine’s territory.

3) Ukraine to recognize the independence of occupied by Russian parts of regions in Eastern Ukraine and not just the parts that are already under occupation but give them additional territories of those regions.
- I am not even sure how to comment on that. They stole our land, want us to say it’s ok, and also as a bonus to give them three times larger piece.

4) Demilitarization of Ukraine
- with Russia bombing us, pushing their tanks to take over the territory of Ukraine, demilitarization means complete surrender and loss of independence

5) Neutral status of Ukraine, guarantees that we will not join NATO
- Ukraine is an independent country and we are free to choose our military alliances. With a crazy neighbor that we have, we better be in the alliance that can protect us. By the way, before Russia attacked us in 2022 only about 30% of Ukrainians would vote in a referendum for Ukraine to join NATO. I would imagine now that support comes close to at least 80% or more. Is anybody surprised?

As you can see these negotiations have no room for give-and-take.

I can honestly admit I get frustrated when my friends from outside of Ukraine start saying that it’s not so obviously black and white, or when Christians pray ambiguously for peace between two nations.

I would invite you to choose the side and pray more specifically: pray for Russian aggression to stop and for Russian troops to return to their land, OR pray for Ukraine to be destroyed.

Those are the only two scenarios that will bring peace. I also want to speak to those Christians who don’t want “to get into politics” because we are citizens of Heaven. God placed each one of us on this earth to be good citizens of specific countries, to be light and salt in our communities, to share the gospel, to stand for justice, against sin and evil.

Please, don’t hide behind your heavenly citizenship, stand and speak against the violence that is being committed by Russia in Ukraine. The Russian church, do not repeat the fate of the German church that chose to support Hilter.

I'm truly amazed, at FReepers like yourself, whom I though I knew by their posting history, willingly "jumping into bed" with the likes of the Democrat controlled Press, Soros, Hillary Clinton, etc. and buying hook line and sinker their Absolutely insane Pro-Ukrainian Propaganda.

Bull. There’s the truth and then there’s propaganda. You wanna kiss the deep state’s ass then go ahead. Most of us know what they’re capable of based on the last 5 years, we also know that Obama and Trump said no to Ukraine and NATO because they knew it meant war. Biden decided to play chicken. Or protect his mslush fund or whatever. Then they inundate Ukraine with propaganda encouraging civilians to fight the Russians with sticks and stones…because the Russians are demoralized, out of gas, poorly trained, ad nauseum. Videos of what is truly happening g to these citizens turned combatants is starting to come out. Everyone who decided that they way to stop Putin was to throw Ukrainians in front of them is a callous criminal.

You need to read more closely many of the comments in open support of that thug Putin.

Real conservatives don’t throw their support behind hegemonic dictators who overrun neighboring countries.
