Fairfax County Virginia board asks Northam to waive witness requirement for absentee ballots

The board voted 9-1 for the proposal by Chair Jeffrey McKay to send a letter to Northam, with Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity, the board’s only Republican, casting the only vote against the motion.

McKay said that waiving the witness signature requirement – as was done during the 2020 election – is necessary due to the continued threat of COVID-19. He said several Fairfax residents had shared concerns with him about obtaining witness signatures – arguing they could be exposed to COVID-19 in the process.

“No one should have their ballot rejected because they’re unwilling to risk their health and safety to vote,” McKay said during the meeting. “We want to be a county that promotes voter participation and doesn’t punish people.”

The real question is, are they already doing it. Gee, if there was just one Fairfax whistleblower that said Fairfax was anticipatory taking unwitnessed absentee ballots their whole absentee batch might just be considered tainted gee gosh.

Virginia Republicans have tried very hard to have poll watchers in place to keep an eye on such things. I don't know how successful that will be. Of course, I'm sure even the "witnessed" ballots are full of fraudulent signatures.

Here we see the racist Democrats in Fairfax County turning out in droves for the old white guy in 2020,
compared to the mediocre turnout for the first black president in 2008.

This suggests to me that Trump's 2020 vote total got "adjudicated".

Scott County in southwest Virginia should do the same, and keep printing Republican ballots until Fairfax Absentee is counted. We’ve made it clear democrats aren’t interested in honest elections so might as well let everything else become the clownshow it deserves to be.

It depends. Does the ballot have to be requested by the voter? I am a Floridian who lives much of the year in another state. I have to request a ballot in what seems to be a very secure system. But, no witness signature is required.
