ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A local group of activists is outraged after a black bear was recently seen in Asheville with a political sticker on its collar.
"Help Asheville Bears" (HAB) is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone who can find out who put a 'Trump 2020' sticker on the bear’s collar.
Sheila Chapman tells News 13 the black bear wandered onto her front porch in North Asheville on July 31 when she noticed something colorful on its collar.
{snip}"We have so many places in this world to put stickers and express our political views," Chapman says. "Using a wild animal for that is cruel and inhuman. It’s not OK."

Bears are NOT Billboards! Second black bear in Asheville,NC confirmed with political sticker on tracking collar. 😡😡😢
HAB is offering a $5,000 reward for information on the person(s) responsible for putting this political sticker on this beautiful bear who has already been trapped, tranquilized, and collared unnecessarily. This bear must wear this burdensome collar (now with a sticker) and bolts in its ears for worthless data.
On September 6, 2019, the Asheville Citizen-Times ran a story of a bear with a similar sticker on it. Today, a follower sent in these pictures of a bear with a similar sticker, however, on one bear the sticker is horizontal on the tag and on the other bear it is diagonal. This makes it twice that someone has put a political sticker on a bear’s collar in Asheville. 😡😡
Whoever put these political stickers on these bears is cruel and heartless. HAB and our followers hope to stop and expose you. This is now the second bear this happened to, which can only mean either someone in the study is doing this or it is someone in the public. Either way, a full investigation needs to be done. Thank you to the amazing follower who sent this report and the pictures to us in order to help get this stopped. HAB agrees 100% with what you say below and we are so thankful to have a true fighter for animals, like you, standing up for the bears. You are a true animal lover and we all applaud your efforts to expose who did this. ❤️👏

Maybe it wasn’t for an advertisement, but for a smear. As in, you don’t like Trump. So you put a Trump sticker on something inappropriate. Trump supporters get blamed.
I wouldn’t have considered such a possibility ten or fifteen years ago. But today’s left is less like JFK and more like Lenin.
This post made me realize that the biggest threat to our country is white women educated beyond their intelligence.

Query me this, Ms. Nitwit: How would the bear know it had a political sticker on its collar and therefore be experiencing “cruelty”? And isn’t putting a collar on a bear more intrusive altogether? And if the sticker was for Biden, would you have registered a complaint? Somehow I doubt it. It was unprofessional if this was done by a wildlife biologist who affixed the tracking collar to the bear, but certainly not worth this oversized reaction.

Exactly. The Trump sticker would also fall off the bear if they plastered it on it’s hair, but they put it on the tracking collar. Even more harmless
