Seattle police have released bodycam footage revealing how protesters have targeted and injured officers by throwing explosives, rocks and bottles in a riot over the weekend.

Nearly 60 Seattle police officers were injured in Saturday clashes with anti-police demonstrators and one was hospitalized as a riot was declared in the city. The police department released video footage of Saturday's unrest where cops dodged explosives, flying bottles and pieces of wood during a protest in Capitol Hill.

During the Saturday protest a large group of demonstrators tried to destroy the East Precinct police department building, shattering windows, burning holes and damaging walls using explosives. The East Precinct station house was the location of the since-dismantled 'Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone' (CHAZ) or the 'Capitol Hill Occupation Protest', which was cleared on July 1.

The video features footage from four different police body-cameras from throughout Saturday.

In three of them small explosives are thrown into groups of police officers, releasing plumes of smoke and burning officers. In the final clip a wooden plank is thrown into a group of cops by demonstrators.

'In all 59 officers were injured throughout the day with one of those being hospitalized. Injuries ranged from abrasions and bruising to burns and a torn meniscus,' the department said.

Mr. GONADler can be reminded that the destruction is just a myth, when those cities demand rebuilding funds from the Fed.😊

The whole purpose of these riots is to goad the police into killing a rioter so the Left can reclaim the moral high ground.

Or so we are told. If Americans believe Democrats ever have the moral high ground then this republic is lost. Worrying about future media driven public opinion is never a reason for doing not doing the right thing. By not doing the right thing we abdicate law and order. That mission has already been accomplished by Democrats.

I suspect that vast majority of Americans loathe these insurrectionists. They won't shed a tear if law enforcement protects themselves.

Lesson learned: dont ever apply to be a police officer in a liberal/leftist city.

If you are already a police officer in a liberal/leftist city, you can always quit and apply for a police officer job elsewhere in a conservative city where you’ll be honored and respected

They had seized the moral high ground with the “I can’t breathe” incident. The suckers who are the American people followed the BLM flock, but the riots killed that. Now they need another martyr.

What is it with the ‘news’ reporting: ‘fireworks’?

Just what explosives are the rioters using? And where from? Homemade?

One can make numerous devices out of homemade chemicals.
They might be referencing The Anarchists Cookbook.

A lot appear to be taken from “safe and sane” fireworks sold for the Fourth of July holiday. and making plastic explosives from home is not as hard as people think if they look on the “dark web.”

So, your solution is to give the rioters alcohol and make sure they’re drunk? ;)

With the Feds now leaving Seattle, the cops should stand down and let citizens learn to defend themselves.

(Given that police have been handcuffed by idiot politicians)

Help me understand. If the Feds make A curfew around the federal facility and make it illegal to Trespass, riot, or loiter, they could scoop up every one of these communist losers and give them felonies for life. Those pointing lasers, carrying weapons, and encouraging mayhem get multiple felonies. Why are we making this difficult?!

It’s extremely difficult to use deadly tactics when the officers can be arrested, tried, convicted, and imprisoned for doing their duty. Departments can also be sued for huge sums of money depleting their already about to be cut budgets. The city also has the ultimate authority to dictate the tactics and equipment allowed, and Seattle has purposefully hamstrung the department which is the reason the department is using these soft handed tactics.

I work with quite a few police departments in three states in the SW and I can tell you that most would be more than happy to crack some criminal skulls, but this soft hands off approach is widespread across the country due to how the media unfairly reports arrests and how litigious our society is.

The same reasons also apply to Federal police as well.

Someone should develop a dye they can spray over the rioters. The dye should have a incident-specific identifiable component. Then they could pick people up and prosecute them at their leisure over time.

Exactly !
It should include some bio-luminescence,
so that repeaters can be identified and found.
