MLB approves 'Black Lives Matter' jersey patches

Major League Baseball players have the option of having a patch with “Black Lives Matter” or “United For Change” on a jersey sleeve on opening day of the pandemic-delayed season.

Teams have the option of stenciling an inverted MLB logo with “BLM” or “United for Change” on the back of the pitcher’s mound during opening weekend games.

After discussions among the commissioner’s office and the Major League Baseball Players Association, The Players Alliance and individual players, each player may use a wristband with an inverted MLB logo in which the silhouetted batter is black, the first use of such a logo.

Each player also may use a Black Lives Matter batting practice T-shirt or a T-shirt designed or obtained by the player or his team.

MLB is lifting cleat restrictions for this season, giving players the ability to put messages for social justice and causes on their spikes.

The worst part of all this “woke” BS is that it’s coming at a time when we are mostly locked down. The only diversion left is Free Republic. Come to think of it, that’s not such a bad thing. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Sad times for all professional sports.
We don't need to be reminded by symbolism's.

I’d sooner watch real Sparrows retaliate against nest-raiding Ravens than a bunch of hypocritical, overpaid political activists in uniforms under fake politically-correct team names.

Professional sports as entertainment has been dead to me for 20 years. If you patronize a sports franchise - season tickets, “fantasy” BS or sports TV packages - YOU are responsible for this crap.

Look in the mirror: NO ONE else is to blame.

MLB now will openly support Marxism and will certainly go the way of the NFL and will also lose fans in mass!

MLB is BLM spelled ass-backwards.

Both are worthless.

Sorry, mlb, I am not going to waste time watching a bunch of guys throw a ball around promoting a violent hate-America black separatist group.

That’s ok. Major league baseball viewers have the option of turning off MLB for good

I haven't watched baseball for a couple of years now; and, I do miss it --- baseball was my game, but, I live in Seattle. I was a Mariners fan. To be a Mariners fan is to know pain and suffering. There were some bright moments (Felix Hernandez's perfect game); but, just not enough of them. So, they had a great year a couple of years ago and it was so fun. Then, off season, they trade everyone worth having and use the "rebuilding" excuse for having a Triple A team playing in the majors.

I had spent years with this team watching "rebuilding" with new players (that never seem to work out), rotating field managers, rotating GM's.

I just got tired of this team, so, I told Hubby I was not going to watch anymore. He didn't believe me; but, I stopped watching and never went back. I miss baseball; but, the players have put the final knife into the nearly dead corpse. Too bad. Baseball is a part of America's history. It is sad that it is ending, with a whimper.

"Baseball is a part of America's history. It is sad that it is ending, with a whimper. "

MLB is ending. But little league, high school, legion and college baseball live on. 50 years ago the rivalries between small town club teams provided great entertainment. Maybe they'll make a comeback.

I spent my days from 5th grade through college playing baseball with players of all colors. I got along with everyone, but I’m considering becoming a racist.

We’re all being accused of it anyway, so what’s the downside?

It was no big deal for MMA but this is weird with no people. Lessened.

Cameramen fleeing due to lightning warnings.

I can’t recall “lightning” impacting football or baseball prior to the last few years.

Major League Baseball players have the option...

And what of the players that choose not to wear the patch? I doubt any one will dare. They'll be destroyed by the mob and they know it.
