Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, warned members of Congress on Monday that the U.S. could reach 100,000 new COVID-19 cases per day if the country does not get a handle on the pandemic.
Speaking before the Senate health committee, Fauci said the country is heading in the “wrong direction as the average number of daily cases continues to go up.
“We’re going in the wrong direction if you look at the curves of the new cases,” said Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “We need to do something about that and we need to do it very quickly.”
The U.S. is now recording 40,000 new cases per day, surpassing previous records set in April when New York was the epicenter of the outbreak.
Now outbreaks in Texas, Arizona, Florida and California account for 50 percent of new infections in the U.S.
Fauci stressed that the U.S. can’t just focus on those four states because outbreaks there "puts the entire country at risk."
Fauci declined to estimate potential COVID-19 deaths when pressed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), but said the situation is “going to be very disturbing, I will guarantee you that because when you have an outbreak in one part of the country, even though in other parts of the country they're doing well, they are vulnerable.”

New York had more than Florida
Yet the Governor of New York is imposing quarantines on people coming from Florida.
But not from New Jersey which has the same number.
Sheer lunacy.
Democrats are desperate to stifle any recovery before election day.
Fauci and company only prolonged the issue with their approach. They know this and are seeking relevance in it still. We will never get herd immunity by trying to have everyone run from it for a year and we will not get an effacious protective vaccine in that time either. They know this. Fauci knows this. He knows that the more that get it and the outrageously high survivability rate means it will come no matter what but they keep stringing out the problem.
Your homemade face masks aren’t doing any such thing. You are living in a fantasy land.
Fauci knows it, too, but he loves his time in the limelight. He wears his mask for show. Didn’t you watch the video? He’s been “caught” many, many times not wearing it when he “should” have.
The face masks are only good to see who is a good little foot soldier for the left.

The Democrat/Left is just not getting enough Chinese flu deaths to carry their plan forward without solid help from the Democrat/Left (and a couple of scared-obamaless Republican) governors.

I don’t see why we are so terrified by it now? I can understand why we were afraid in March. But now our medical system is restocked and we have PPE available, we need to allow the virus to burn through the population and achieve herd immunity.

Heck, I live in Florida and our normally good governor got intimidated into shutting down an important part of our economy (bars...Florida is an entertainment and tourism state) and our GOP (RINO) mayor just imposed a mask order that is going to kill the businesses just starting to come back.
Personally I’ll go to another county or even state to shop rather than wear a mask.
Trump has got to come out and set us free. He fell for Fauci the first time and I don’t know why. But it’s clear now that Fauci knew nothing then, he knows nothing now, he’s an 81 yr old bureaucrat having his 15 minutes, and Trump should do what he should have done in the first place: ignore him.
