Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Thursday said that investigating Burisma and former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter “appears political” and that he had not decided whether to vote in favor of a subpoena related to the investigation.

“There’s no question but that the appearance of looking into Burisma and Hunter Biden appears political,” Romney told reporters Thursday. “And I think people are tired of these kind of political investigations and would hope that if there’s something of significance that needs to be evaluated that it would be done by perhaps the FBI or some other agency that’s not as political as perhaps a committee of our body.”

"We also have a lot of work to do on matters that are not related to Burisma, we probably oughta focus on those things," he said, adding that he would speak with Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) later on Thursday.

Tell us, Romney, what does *not* look "political" to you?

You seem to be saying, if a crime has a political connection, it may not be investigated.

Sounds like a license for corruption.

Can any Freeper defend WHY we re-elected this idiot to a position of power? I would have preferred a democrat and then try to unseat them this year than giving this traitor the keys to the kingdom.

This was the plan from the get go. This way Lindsay doesn’t have to do go after his old buddy Joe.

Sounds like Romney is trying to cover for someone in addition to Hunter.

Romney’s sole reason for running for the Senate was to replace McCain as an ever-present thorn in President Trump’s side. Jealousy is an ugly thing.

He’ll block it because he will protect his former advisers. Swamp rat to the bone.

Ya, lets blame romney. The whole gopE was in on the get Trump resistance movement. romney is just the latest reason not to investigate real corruption.

Between McStain and this dude, I get so sick and tired of these people. Maybe Romney needs to take a cruise with all the never Trumpers.

“Tell us, Romney, what does *not* look “political” to you?”

A one-sided Impeachment, Mueller investigation, etc, not political at all from Mittens perspective.

I suspect that Romney may be connected to foreign aid kickback schemes himself. Lindsey Graham is and all or most of the Republicans in Congress who have been there more than one term are. Same, oc course, for the Democrats That is an investigation that is going nowhere in the Senate. If a real investigation occurs it will be by William Barr’s Justice Department.

No, what the people are tired of is the absence of legitimate investigations into ANY FRICKING BODY with ‘deep state’ connections.

What an a**hat....
