Aside from the weakness of the CA GOP and its incompetent messaging, California is the Democrats' vote fraud laboratory. All of their schemes are hatched there, and when they work they are taken nationally. Far Left politicians are elected in California in percentages well above their actual support among the electorate.

Other than Federalizing the state's elections and imprisoning most of its corrupt election officials, I'm not sure there is a solution at this late date.

You hit the nail directly on the head. My sister has lived there since the late 60’s. She claims to be a Republican, but to hear her talk you’d swear she’s a lefty rat. She even believes global warming is causing the ocean to rise at Kalifornia beaches. She does not like the way Trump uses Twitter defend us. They sit in their home voluntarily leaving the AC off while cooking in 90 degree indoor temps with ailments such as strokes and the likes.

The term republican can be misleading. Of the seven, only, from California, Douglas LaMalfa, Paul Cook, Kevin McCarthy , Kenneth Calvert and Duncan Hunter are all true conservatives with their voting based upon conservative values and in support of the our president.

However two of the seven are liberal/socialist in their work and are not true to the conservative party. Thomas McClintock II voting is inconsistent with the conservatives in LGBT rights, and climate control with questions about his votes Marijuana and animal rights. David Nunes is an across the board liberal/socialist with the display of his voting on energy, fiscal party, the environment, immigration and refugees to include negative comments on surveillance, and joins the riffraff on marijuana and transportation. Thus saying there are seven republicans, doesn’t exactly tell the whole story in the state.

So, as for the disappearance of the conservative party in California, we need to remember Custer. He was vastly outnumbered, too.

Hanson does know California. Other stuff - sometimes not so much.

Connecticut is a lot like California. Suburbanites turned into "woke" gentry.

Further from the border, but the clock is ticking there, too.

Prop 187 passed with 59 percent support. Wilson's endorsement of the bill helped its passage, and his support of it aided his landslide 1994 re-election.

What happened?

I have said for decades that the Republican decline began when Wilson broke faith with his base.

During the 1994 debate with Kathleen Brown, Wilson said that if elected, he would complete his term (Brown was saying that Wilson wanted to run for President and abandon California in 1996).

Wilson promised to complete his term, and then in 1996 he broke his promise. He even went to New York City to announce his candidacy with the Statue of Liberty in the background instead of doing it from California, the state he governed.

I believe that the California Republican began its slide after that.

What happened? Simply put, they got outhustled, outmuscled, outnumbered and mowed down.

Easy
What you are seeing in the MSM, Social Media and politics is “Controlling the Message”
This has been going on for 30 years in CA.

There are still people in CA who have never heard of the Tea Party Movement.
I have met people in AZ who have never heard of Antifa or think its a right wing movement.

This is why the Left went crazy when “Net Neutrality” was closed under Trump.

Please people who move from California, when moving from the state, don’t pack liberalism. Same for citizens moving from other blue states...

Aliens... and drugs and California can never do wrong beautiful state mentality.

People who go live there have their IQ drop when it comes to discerning a few things about California.

It is amazing how people there keep voting for this kind of nonsense they impose over there.

Bob Dornan was another good conservative Republican from Calif. and he was not “lite”.

He was hated in the Republican House he served in. Beaten by a fake Hispanic.

The prior claimant to California was Spain. I’d give coastal Ca back to them (except San Diego County).

In the ‘90’s, I saw Bob Dornan in my post office one Saturday morning, getting mail from a post office box. I didn’t realize it was him until I was on my way out the door. Wish I had said something to him.
