Mom and dad are just outside of Placerville. They’re waiting, too.

Ouch! It is stunning how fast the humidity level can drop.

“”No rain since March. 100’s of millions of tons of tinder. Temps in the 80s with 10% humidity. Sustained winds of 30-50mph, gusts to 80.””

That’s nothing new. I was born an raised in that leftist sh*t bucket...It happens all the time.

A fellow ham out of the Placerville area has been going around with talks to groups regarding the total communication failure during the Campfire. I brought him to Oroville where he gave two talks...the end result is our “neighborhood” area has instigated a GMRS radio system to keep in contact and pass along information during this exact type of situation. ALan has been trying to get one set up in the Placerville area. I do not know today, what the success of that is....

We all know there is plenty of blame to go around...barring that, people have to take hold of the situation and try to mitigate it. They have to look out for their own safety...GMRS is not the total answer of course, but it is A tool. The communities all along the western slope of the Sierra all face this same problem of potential wildfires. Good luck with your folks this weekend, powered that be say it is going to be pretty bad winds...worse than two years ago when Santa Rosa and the town of Bangor here in Butte County burned to e ground...No one talks about that.

I remember watching the Oakland Fire interspersed with the Niners Game while living in the Bay Area at the time....real firestorm there.

we have high winds in colorado all the time; not ONCE has the power been deliberately shutdown for that reason since i arrived here in 1975 ... i’m sure it’s happened, but i don’t recall forest fires being sparked by power lines ... 99% of our forest fires are due to:

1. lightening strikes

2. campers careless with campfires

3. hot catalytic converters

4. arson by nutjobs

You can’t evacuate when the vehicle is out of Juice and if you have Juice you’ll not get very far

Won’t be long now before Goobenor Nuisance will start begging POTUS for help....which he will get.... and then bash POTUS a short time later.

RATafornia is costing US taxpayers a bloody fortune.

Keep in mind that when Texas and other Red States needed help, Obama ignored them.

Since I was a kid the winds blow this time of year, like late September up through January...Every year and after long hot summers everything is dry as s**t. Big surprise!!

Its a failed state in every direction, run by extreme liberals who now are trying to convince everyone this is all something new, all caused by global warming to cover their epic mismanagement of everything...Why, these are not just winds, these are horrific winds created by man, petroleum and pickup trucks.

Still refusing to clear the trees and brush from around the powerlines. Blames fires on faulty powerlines.

"It’s both.

Neglect of the forests. Neglect of the grid.

And truly extreme weather."

Meanwhile the politicians and beaurocrats have become multi-millionaires on their pitifully small salaries. They are great money managers.

“we have high winds in colorado all the time; not ONCE has the power been deliberately shutdown for that reason since i arrived here in 1975”

Same story in all the other Western states.

It’s comical what Californians think is “extreme”. The daytime temp goes over 85 and they start fluttering and fainting and declaring an end to the world.

The high winds in Sonoma have been going on forever. Most of the time the fires AREN’T started by wires falling. One of the bigger ones was started by an illegal who was upset at the injustice of his life back in 2016.

Nobody mentions that. It’s more profitable to blame PGE, and they make a good target because they ARE a bunch of miscreants who won’t fix their equipment but spend all their time trying to jack up the rates so they can pay fatter dividends.

And that’s all the power outages are about: wirebrushing the peons into accepting higher rates.

I see, you’re the analogy police. But even you got the message! Very commendable.

All Republican candidates and volunteers should be in the blackout zones registering voters and campaigning whenever this happens. Bring printed material that proves this is government negligence, not climate change.
