Presidential Pardon Power needs to be expanded and even to pardoning persons on stage charges.
That would indeed trigger a case before the Supreme Court but this is the time to test the case.

They won’t even charge the perp. Just shine it on. The other thing is they revoke the law, the damage has already been done, and nobody gets released from jail, or has their life made whole, and righteous again. It’s a screw you law.

That’s actually a reason to go on a fishing expedition. If they find some contradiction and question someone on it, a perjury charge is independent of a crime they’re pardoned for. And refusing to hand over all information to be fished is already being equated to obstruction of justice, a different crime than the theoretical original.

Does this really change anything? Are there actually identical state and federal charges for any given crime? Can’t the state already charge someone pardoned by the president if state charges apply? Like the cops in the Rodney King case, but in reverse order?
First thought; The state of NY can’t change the US President’s Constitutional pardoning powers. Second thought; look what a number of states have done to the Second Amendment, they’ve decimated it. The
SCOTUS refuses to hear challenges to the states nullifying much of the 2nd and very likely scotus won’t hear any challenge to this issue either.
