Mike Pence may have the title, but insiders in Washington and Indiana where he served as governor, believe that Karen Pence rules the roost and is the 'real VP.'
In fact, any hesitation by the Trump team in tapping Pence for VP revolved around the power held by the woman he calls 'Mother.'
Pence became Donald Trump's pick for Vice President by playing hard to get when the future president shouted at him: 'I need killers! Do you want this thing or not?'
Pence calmly told Trump it 'doesn't matter' if he chose him and that if he wanted an 'attack dog' he had the wrong guy.
Trump had asked Pence while sitting over breakfast in Indiana in June 2016, why he was bothering being in the race if that was his attitude. Pence simply replied: 'You're in my home, you tell me'.
Trump said 'wow' and was impressed by the indifference that Pence showed to him.
By acting like he didn't want the job, Pence ensured that Trump was desperate to have him, writes Tom LoBianco, a former Associated Press reporter who covered Pence while he was governor of Indiana.

The Daily Mail story has a few glaring factual errors, which in turn render its entire premise questionable.
Says Mike & Karen Pence married in 1965.
Nope. The Veep was *born* in 1959. He would’ve been 6 yo in ‘65.
In fact, they’ve been married 34 years, since 1985.
Agreed.
Plus, her dress was NOT “tacky.”
It was dressy, appropriate, and ladylike.
IOW not flashy & trashy enough to wow the lefty set.
The reporter is an idiot.

It’s the Daily Mail - when’s the last time you read anything factual coming out of that rag?
They finally noticed that Pence invariably shows public support for his President and decided they need to try to throw a wet blanket over that factoid...
Unless the author of the biography was sitting at the table with them, it didn't happen............
Sorry to disappoint the sourpuss Karen Pence fans amongst us, but having had sufficient exposure to that sort of person, especially one who deems herself in a position to judge as she so obviously does, I will say if shes not a problem now, she will be.
Dittos...I can't think of a less controversial person in the administration.
Pence will be loyal to Trump up until he isn't. Whenever it suits his interests to turn on him.
Obviously the left is trying to tarnish Pences image with fantastic lies, because Pence is popular with the voters.
He and Karen have to fight back.
