‘The Supreme Court Is Not Well. And the People Know It.’ [Mega Barf Alert]
The Atlantic ^ | September 2, 2019 | Garrett Epps

Posted on 09/02/2019 6:44:11 PM PDT by fwdude

The Supreme Court as we once knew it—as a national institution that could at least sometimes stand apart from partisanship—died last year. The ongoing fight over its corpse spilled into public view last week.

On Thursday, 53 United States senators—every member of the Republican caucus—wrote a “letter” to the clerk of the Supreme Court assuring the justices that the Republican Party has their back. The Democrats, the senators told the Court, pose “a direct, immediate threat to the independence of the judiciary.”

The spat is about guns. The Court has granted review in a Second Amendment case entitled New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. City of New York, New York, which (nominally) tests an obscure New York City ordinance governing how firearms owners could—note the past tense—travel with their weapons.

Uh, no. That would take a constitutional amendment anyway.

Better to require strict attendance and contributory involvement in ALL functions of your government duties to be deemed fit to occupy a seat. If RBG can’t attend court hearings, in person, she should go, involuntarily if necessary.

Once RBG is replaced with a CONSERVATIVE CONSTITUTIONALIST, all will be FINE with the SCOTUS.

What the Atlantic fail's to note is the NY argued forcibly for their crazy law right up through the 2CA and won every time.

But suddenly, when the SC decided to take a look , they had a "road to Damascus" moment, repented of their previous sins and became convinced that the crazy law really was crazy.

Except no one with any sense believes this for a second.

And, I have yet to hear about any public figure offering to reimburse either the public or the Rifle & Pistol Association for their exorbitant legal fees, now that the City of NY had realized that they were on the wrong side.

So, the court is no longer firmly in radical leftist hands and therefore it’s “broken.”

Nailed it. The Left isn’t getting its way anymore or having all their causes ‘rubber stamped’ by willing accomplices in the courts, like they used to. Still a long way to go, but it’s good and getting better all the time.

As for being sick, lets see, they have a judge that is somehow defying the laws of nature by defeating all sorts of cancer, one that has some serious diabetic issues, one that is well on his way to retiring and one has no judicial experience. So yeah, there are some issues. Issues for the Left as they see their grasp being peeled off.

So, we all think that Ginsburg is the next to go, no pun intended, whether she’s taken out on a gurney or just gets too sick to do the job. If that happens anytime soon, the President will replace her, obviously. If he does that, he has a 5-4 court. I say that because there is no way anyone can say that Roberts is on the same team as Thomas, et al. If he is re-elected, God willing, Thomas can bounce safely as he’ll be replaced by someone in his mold. And I think we could definitely see Breyer hand in his paperwork given his age and there’s no way for the court to issue a decision for the Left. Then Sotomayor has some legit health issues, as well.

It’s amazing to think that, if he’s re-elected, President Trump could leave office with a 7-2 Supreme Court. All of them young. No telling what would go down in this country then. I do think it would drive the Left to make some really dumb and violent decisions.

With that photo, I’d love to find out where this moron lives and what restaurants, etc, he and his Leftist friends go to. I’d flood his neighborhood with so many illegal aliens and refugees, he and his ilk will be afraid to leave their homes.

Yes, 80 years, Salvation. Our country has been going down hill a long time... since the Revolutionary War. It doesn’t take long for potential terrorists (wishing to maintain arms only for themselves), potential dictators and their minions to decide what the USA will looke and act like absolutely and millionaires to secrete movst of their money into terrorist organization who see an opportunity to gain singular control.

We are almost there...those 15 billionaires must be feeling pretty cocky by now.
