One of the top tourist attractions in Paris was forced to close Monday after a person scaled the iconic Eiffel Tower.
The operators of the attraction tweeted around 10 a.m. ET that the tourist site was "closed until further notice" after the unidentified climber was spotted on the top side of the tower.
The climber appeared to be wearing a red jacket and was located near the top of the 1,063-foot structure.
"We kindly advise our visitors to postpone their visit," officials said.

Looks like the red jacket is the rescue worker and the black jacket from his posture may actually be a jumper and not just a scaler for a stunt.
To paraphrase what Trump said about that idiot woman who climbed the statue of liberty, put out nets and wait for these idiots to fall or come down on their own. Don’t risk putting rescue workers in danger becsuse demented individuals choose to do something so dangerous.
A climbing purest, NO CHALK!!!
Watching a live feed from Rooters.
Red clad rescue dude is sitting there talking to the loon/perp...
Have a sniper shoot him and be done with it. Once this becomes policy, there will be no further such incidents.
They should be thankful the tower hasn’t burned down like other Paris landmarks have...
I sure as hell wouldn't risk one of my team for the climber.
Situations like this could finally provide the motivation to develop accurate, long range, high velocity tasers.
Nice for the tourists.
My family is going up there first week of July.
George Willig?
easy target...
“I sure as hell wouldn’t risk one of my team for the climber.”
One way or another he is coming down.
I wonder how much of a deterrent it would be if they laid out a variety of body b ags so the climber could see them???
I wonder if he was,did plant a bomb?
Actually a bit of concertina wire at the same mentioned levels would be 100% effective. However, the concept of fools killing themselves appeals to me. Medical schools always need young vibrant bodies recently deceased for study.
