Tax return battle: POTUS Trump has a chance to nullify an awful IRS regulation — and he should
The National Sentinel ^ | 4/5/19 | Jon Dougherty

A stuttering, angry House Speaker Nancy Pelosi struggled her way through a session with reporters on Friday as she demanded — demanded — that the Justice Department release special counsel Robert Mueller’s “no collusion” report in full and that POTUS Donald Trump hand over his tax returns to political opportunists in the House.

“Show us the Mueller report,” Speaker Pelosi said, pounding the lectern. “Show us the tax returns. And we’re not walking away just because you say ‘no’ the first time around.”

First of all — and we’ll say this as long as Democrats play stupid political games while our southwestern border collapses in chaos — the Justice Department is under no legal obligation to provide Congress with jack when it comes to Mueller’s report.

AG William Barr, who is known as a straight shooter, will deal with that demand. But this business of Congress demanding POTUS’ tax returns has to be dealt with legally and constitutionally because it is a gross violation of Fourth Amendment privacy rights.

As a side note to this thread please consider the following regarding so-called IRS regulations.

As a side note to your side note, please consider that, contrary to the misleading headline of the article, the right of the House Ways and Means Committee to review any tax return they ask for does not come from any IRS Regulation. It comes from Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, a statute duly enacted by Congress and signed by President Ronald Reagan.

Nixon was at 70%. He was not ‘universally hated’. Not by a long shot.

Universally hated by Communists in the U.S. and most of the MSM back in the day.

It was a Media coup.

Having read the law regarding releasing tax return info, it would be interesting for Trump to have his returns released to the two Chairmen, then when they are “leaked” or publicized outside of the Committee, prosecute them to the full extent of the law, including early morning SWAT raids on their houses and families, jail until bonded out, or better yet, solitary confinement until their trial date (not arraignment date). One or two of those and the leaky sieve of Congress would suddenly halt.

Somebody HAS to be the first ones to be charged and jailed so the rest will decide that it’s not really a good idea to flaunt the law and consequences just to gain political points.

Same with “sanctuary cities”. Grab a couple of the mayors or head honchos and show them being perp walked to federal charges and the rest will straighten up real quick. Actions *should* have consequences. Even when you’re an ‘elite’.

Your key statement: ‘brainwashing’. It is not working on Trump, but it is the same plan exactly. Back then, there were no other sources than the MSM, so we were are manipulated. Now, there are a 100 different sources if a person is really interested in discovering the truth about the Deep State.

“Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code very clearly states that the Chairman of either the House Ways and Means Committee or the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee is entitled to see any tax return they ask for.”

It also clearly states there must be a reason for the request.

Trump is not obligated by law to make his taxes public.
He should just let it slide until he is out of office.
His tax return is most likely 1000 pages long, and the Rats & media will nit-pick it to death, consuming a lot of Trump’s time refuting.

It also clearly states there must be a reason for the request.

Please show me where you see that requirement:

"(f) Disclosure to Committees of Congress
"(1) Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Finance, and Joint Committee on Taxation
"Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure."
