As we argue over 35-year old yearbook photos, we forget about a larger issue.
Let me confess that I'm willing to cut a politician a lot of slack over a 35-year-old photo. I'm not defending the photos but it's not fair to destroy a man's career over photos that were taken when President Reagan was in first term. To be fair, the governor has not dealt with the issue honestly either. He should have owned the photos and simply say that it was a youthful mistake and to be judged by the rest of life.
The real issue for me was the Democrats and their reaction to infanticide, as Charlie Hurt discussed:

It’s all troubling to me.
Seems we all are about to be/or may eventually be held accountable for every mistake we have ever made.
Tables are turned: people are guilty until proven innocent; it’s a crime to kill someone, except unborn babies; free-speech is being eroded faster than one would have thought; (IMO) our government system is being taken over by those who want to destroy America; California is held as an example to the rest of the country(?); Colorado now wants to make psychedelic mushrooms legal, etc.
I’d like to know why Northam chose that particular photo to put into the yearbook. It must have some significance to him. What is it?
The buzz is Northam’s colleagues were so enraged by his support for infanticide......they spilled the beans about the blackface picture.
Any politician of any party who does not realize at this point the ONLY acceptable answer to any question containing the word “abortion” is “My opinions do no matter on this issue because I am an elected servant of The People and so we should all allow the voice of the people to decide this contentious issue”. Any politician who does not have that answer tattooed on the back of their hand deserves every bit of the trouble they subsequently find themselves in.
Having said that I can say this: it is pretty clear that Northam knew this blackface photo was a potential problem and had a strategy to deal with it. When he got his tit in the wringer over the abortion thing they thought they could just change the discussion to something they had already in the can. So he doubled down on stupidity to see if he couldn’t take the hand with idiocy. How in the hell did this retard ever win any election?

So, he thought if he proved how pro-abortion he was then that would make him look better.
NO.....not that blackface is worse than infanticide.....it was the door they kicked open to nail Northam.
It’s all staged.
The longer Ralph can drag this out, the less the chattering class will remember about who said what about abortion. Ralph will get a call today from the Pelosi Brigade Commander who will instruct Ralph to...once again... change (or embellish) his story.

No he realized he had made an unforced major error and tried to divert to a play he already had in the book. But he was so stupid he failed to realize that he traded a losing issue that only GOP would call for his resignation to one where his own party would howl for his blood.
Ralph was introduced to the Democrat Sacrificial Sword. Many Dems have volunteered to, either willingly...or unwillingly...meet their fate on that sword.
Sounds like the Justin dude, Ralph’s supposed successor, will be the next to slide on the sword. After all, it’ll keep the story off abortion for a bit longer.
Has anyone asked the Humane society what their position is on this? If it were puppies or baby seals, i bet it wouldnt happen.
Sanger did not stop at deformed babies and neither will these blood thirsty animals.

I was telling my kid that if we lived in normal times I would just say, it happened over 30 years ago, forgive him. But we don’t live in normal times. We are at war and if this guy had an R by his name he would be destroyed. Therefore, no quarter is given.
A quick search on ny infanticide produces many articles. If your worried about a yawn, try posting those.
I didn't mean to suggest that you thought that the infanticide wasn't worse.
It's the media and Northem's Democrat and RINO colleagues who inappropriately think that.

Would the public be outraged over delivering babies and leaving them to die? Apparently so, because the left immediately obscured that fact by digging up the blackface picture and turning it into one of their once-a-month obsessions.
Say or do something totally outrageous or even illegal and make somethig stupid and inane the wall to wall, 24/7 topic of conversation.

He blew it. They should have Shrugged it off from the beginning as a childish prank, insisting does not represent his feelings now. As a Democrat he could have easily gotten away with that. No, I think they are trying to hang him for his abortion comments, but they cannot admit that, as that would force them to actually discuss infanticide. The blackface photo is just a ruse. They are pounding it way too hard.
