Management is an a$$hole! Management needs to apologize to the employee with these words: “You said the right thing. You said ‘sir’ to an individual who wanted to be called ‘ma’am’. You could not have known.”

At a fast food stand forty years ago, I got burgers and said “Thank you ma’am” to the person there.
The reply I got was “HEY, I’M A GUY!”
“Oops, sorry.” I said. Really I could not tell the difference! Young feminine boy teen with long hair. Still looked like a girl.
Several years ago when I visited friends in California, at the beach I saw two women in black dresses walking past me. The short one was definitely a girl. The taller one definitely was not. A tall thin man with no beard, but definitely a man.

I’m clearly a woman. I have had men and women say, “yes sir” to me, It’s just an automatic response for clerks and they may get it wrong sometimes.
Maybe even raised that way. I’ve been taken back but I’ve never taken offense at such a tiny misspoke. How the hell does anyone know what’s between a psychos’ legs?
