“People who served their time...”

Don’t for a minute believe that this will be limited to just felons who have completed their sentences. Democrats ALWAYS take a law/rule/ruling well past its intended purpose when it serves their purpose.

“... If you’re not willing to follow the law, then you should not have a role in making the law for everyone else, which is what you do when you vote — either directly (in the case of a referendum or ballot initiative) or indirectly (by choosing lawmakers and law enforcers)...”

The people of Florida see it differently.

And Florida has the power to exercise their States’ Rights on the question.

Wow... with felons voting, Gillum would’ve won going away.

“Felons should lose certain rights.” Is that in the U.S. Constitution?

Actually, what IS in the Constitution is that male landowners can vote, and nobody else. It was foolishly amended.

Do the People of Florida have the States’ Right to end the prohibition of felons voting?

Sure, almost as much as Florida having the States' Right to end the prohibition of Felon gun possession.

You seem a little left-of-center.

The people of Florida see it differently.

Well then. Let us get this before a politically-charged Federal Judge and overturn it.

Isn't that what you leftists do with Voter Initiatives YOU don't like?

And Florida has the power to exercise their States’ Rights on the question.

So let's give all the felons their gun rights back.

The only question is, does the U.S. Constitution extend rights to States under the 10th Amendment that provides a state the Right to extend voting rights to certain felons who have completed their sentence?

This is simply an example of States’ Rights.

Democrat ballot harvesting is rampant vote fraud.
<><> vote harvesters sign up people to vote absentee,
<><> then get them to sign their ballots .... whether marked or not.

========================================

Ruthless Democrats invade peaceful people residing in:
rest homes, hospitals, homeless shelters, tent cities, labor camps, prisons, jails, high schools, colleges, etc,

The conniving Democrat vote harvester "assists" the voter in marking the ballot.....
more likely the Democrat fills it in, and connives to get the signature. (hat tip Jim Robinson)

NOTE ballot harvesting has always been illegal and is banned in many states.

This was not done by a legislature, it was not done by the courts, it was a decision done by the voters.

And a Federal Judge cannot overturn this decision by the voters of Florida.

I can confirm that in my state, too. I live. Very fe in an aea wieth lots of prisons, so there are a lot of felons out there. Very few of them actually vote, but most of them are Trump
Supporters.

They avoid voting because once all of their requirements are completed, they tend to want to lay low and not be engaged with the system if they can help it.

If it does, that itself is criminal.

You can scarcely conceal your joy for this law, in this thread. That is because, like the leftist you appear to be, you know this will lock Florida firmly into the Democrat column.

It’s simply a question of if Florida has the right to allow felons who have completed their sentences to vote.

by passing this law, the voters of Florida have placed their state as similarly situated as Texas, West Virginia, South Dakota, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Georgia, Alaska, Arkansas, Missouri and several other states.

Allowing felons to voter after they have completed their sentences is quite common among the States.

Prisoners understand force and human behavior better than anyone. If they didn’t like being cooped up with illegals in the joint, they might feel the same way on the outside. Who knows?

Good luck to the State of Florida. Look to California to see what happens.

There are 20 or so other states that allow certain felons to vote after they complete their sentences, and no federal court has jurisdiction to alter those state laws.
