House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s plan for a new “Climate Cris” panel didn’t go over well with all of her political allies, particularly staffers for newly elected Ne w York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The California Democrat, who is poised regain her House Speaker role in the near year, championed a new “Select Committee on the Climate Crisis” on Friday, but her younger and more progressive counterparts were not impressed.
“This committee, if it turns out that the rumors about it are true, sounds about as useful as a screen door on a submarine,” said Corbin Trent, a spokesman for Rep.-elect Ocasio-Cortez, The Hill reported Friday. “As it’s portrayed it’s going to be completely incapable of solving the greatest threat to humankind.”

She is not a rocket scientist. I doubt she has any decent grounding in science or math.

She says a lot of things I find incredible, but they do not indicate stupidity. They indicate she knows a great deal that is false.
It is not the same thing as being stupid.
Many highly intelligent people believe you can increase taxation to increase prosperity, for example.
The people that took over Russia, China, North Korea, Cambodia, Cuba, and Venezuela, were not stupid. They simply knew a great deal that was false, leading to horrible results.

President Trump can always rely on the gullibility and stupidity of the hateful mob of imbeciles who always vote for the Democrats.
The beaver-face from Brooklyn makes brings to mind that old saying, "Old Age and Guile always beats Youth and Skill." Schumer and Pelosi (and the rest of the Demagogic Party old hands) see the BFFB as their biggest threat. And she's going to find out. Or they will find out how real MS-13 really is. So wait a minute. You mean that Pelosi really isn’t interested in battling climate change, but instead wants to use it as a vehicle to consolidate Dem/global power, and AOC is ruining it for her?
If she doesn't, she should hire one!
All she has to do, in order to have a lifetime of luxury beyond what most people dream of, is find out how Nancy wants her to vote, make sure she gets some goodies for her district along the way, and enjoy life.
She can live a life of Maxine Waters luxury....

Just how exactly does a completely inexperienced and unknown person who was a bartender six months ago get elected to a national office? And displacing an incumbent from her own party too. Follow her backers, if you can identify them.
O-C is the front woman for a hard-left Hispanic faction within the Democrat party which is intending to displace the older factions of "White" men and women who still hold the reigns of power. They have little use for the Black factions of the Party.
This should get very interesting as it plays out. Better than "Game of Thrones".

yup. no bucks for the primary in 2020 and her opponent will have more cash than they know what to do with.
One way is for her opponent to completely take the vote for granted. O-C would never have been elected if her primary opponent had put effort into the primary.
Instead, they got complacent, and got primaried.
That doesn't mean O-C is exceptionally smart or organized. It means she saw an opportunity and got lucky.
It also means she has some smarts and some organization. It takes some to primary a long term member.
It is like an amateur taking out a professional boxer with a sucker punch. It can be done if the pro is complacent, and doesn't see it coming.
Doesn't have to go that way. All she has to do is play ball.
