Some Democrats who will take the House majority in January are willing to say that President Donald Trump may have committed impeachable offenses. But that doesn’t mean they will try to impeach him — at least not yet.
For several reasons, Democrats have been extremely cautious about the “I” word. They know it could backfire politically, and many of them were in office during President Bill Clinton’s impeachment 20 years ago. New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee and the panel’s likely incoming chairman, has called impeachment a “trauma.”
Nadler told CNN on Sunday that if it is proved that Trump directed his former lawyer to commit campaign finance violations, as was suggested by special counsel Robert Mueller in a new court filing, he believes it would be an impeachable offense. But Nadler added, “Whether they are important enough to justify an impeachment is a different question.”
It’s unclear whether the distinction between an impeachable offense and impeachment itself will satisfy those in the Democratic base who are eager to kick Trump out of office. But Democrats are walking that fine line, for now. […]

Trump isn’t going to just sit there and be subjected to impeachment.
Democrats can sit there making all the noise & accusations they like, but to actually move against him would invoke serious actions against their own, subjecting top Ds to serious prosecution for their own actual crimes.
I doubt any Leftist leaders are willing to be slain just to take down Trump.
They won’t be able to help themselves. Tom Steyer and the frothing moonbats will force the issue.
I think you’ve summarized the bottom line.
There will not be an impeachment vote in the Judiciary Committee, and most certainly not on the House Floor.
Of course the Democrats will have to p!ss off their moonbat base to avoid that vote. Even though it’s a certain loser.
Instead they’ll posture and preen, subpoena and investigate. And they’l leak innuendo and lies.
But they’ll never take that vote.

Continuing threats to impeach the president will only bring more voters to oppose that very bad idea.
Many of the Dems 40 wins in the House were “moderate Democrats” with military credentials, who told voters in less Socialist places that they were only interested in saving health insurance for those with preexisting conditions. The stupid voters bought it.
Now we will see these liars vote Pelosi in as Speaker, and they’ll be voting lock step with Occasionally-Coherent from darkest NYC. We all knew this would happen, but some people love to be scammed by the Democrat Party.

Yeh especially now that a district judge has ordered Stormy Daniels to lay Trump $300,000 in fees for a meritless lawsuit.
