Vanity: Paul Ryan to Blame for House Losses
VANITY

Posted on 11/06/2018 9:32:38 PM PST by TigerClaws

Did nothing of value as Speaker. Didn't discourage at least half of those looking to retire into sticking around another two years where we could have maintained control.

He lined up his K Street job and started throwing bombs towards Trump (which he also did a few days before the 2016 election).

Trump worked and saved the Senate and made the difference in some key governor races. Tonight was not a Trump defeat.

Part of it was history -- midterm election usually results in out of power party winning. But this was winnable.

Ryan blew the House.

It’s razor-thin, and we will get it back.

You wont even know the difference between the past and next two years....literally.

Yes he is.

The Republican house was elected on the promises of repealing ObamaCare and fully funding the border wall and Ryan nixed both of those.

Watch as the DemonRAT house fulfills their Promises to attack Trump in anyway they can.

Less than dazzling candidates: DeSantis is the first name that comes to mind. He almost lost this one. Maybe he never really expected to win at all. Pres. Trump carried him to the finish line. Obama was all ready to crow about his vast Kingmaker Influence.

One difference: When Pelosi, like Ryan did, blocks full ObamaCare repeal and wall funding, POTUS can now blame it on the Dems this time.

The GOP establishment are idiots but this is a completely expected event. The party in power is generally punished in the midterms. At least we kept the Senate, and that is more important.

“Less than dazzling candidates:”

Yes. That’s my take as well. The problem is larger than any one person and is systemic.

Yep, GOP definitely needs a better bench, and vetting of candidates.

This is serious, most people in House elections still vote for whom they perceive as the best person, regardless of party. It’s a completely different dynamic than for Senate or Presidential campaigns.

Your assessment of Paul Ryan is 100% accurate.

Paul Ryan played games and allowed only a small fraction of things to get through in the House. Pelosi is bad but a loon and so Trump can focus his attention on crazy Pelosi who will do nothing over the next two years which is little worst than Ryan in charge (saved of course for the Illegal fbi/DOJ
investigation of Trump campaign hearings now being shut down). Schumer has been pretty much neutered by the Senate gains

Paul Ryan never wanted that job in the first place.
He did us a favor by speeding the retirement of
John (Boo-Hoo!) Boehner.

Now that was a strange time, having Boehner as Speaker, and him so ready to start bawling at the drop of a hat.
I still think Mr. Boehner has/had some sort of psychologic condition that made him so prone to weeping in public.
Not just a wistful and glistening tear or two, but full on,
noisy, screwed up face bawling. The sort of bawling one sees at funerals.
One day we’ll find out that he was prescribed some medication to keep that compulsion at bay.

Ryan was sure a disappointment!

However, Pelousy was, is, and will be even worse.

Alas!
Pray for America!

I can agree with this. He stoked the idea Trump would be a “disaster” as POTUS and scared too many GOP incumbents into thinking there would be no coattails to ride.

The silver lining is we are rid of Ryan and many of the never Trumpers and weasles and can rebuild a more principled and united party.

Paul Ryan is basically a socialist. But, let’s not forget about the HUGE turnout of illegals who get bused from polling place to polling place to vote DemoRAT numerous times every election day. For each vote cast, they get $100 from George Soros.

Except in a very few places the DemoRATS can’t win without votes from illegals. So, almost every one of their “victories” today are illegitimate.

That’s why there are so many sealed indictments pending (maybe 100,000). The mass arrests and military tribunals will get started very soon. It’ll be sweet.

I expect Trump to unseal the indictments and declare temporary martial law by the end of the week.

The woman in front of me asked for a “provisional ballot”. The poll worker asked aloud to the other poll workers “what is to prevent someone from going from precinct to precinct and filling out provisional ballots at every one of them?”.

Indeed. But I was surprised she hadn’t (and nobody seemed to have) the answer. This was at 3PM, I find it hard to believe she was the first person to ask for a provisional ballot 7 hours into the voting.

Totally agree. Going a bit farther, I think the gop-e intentionally threw the house. Those retirements and departures gave dems a huge advantage going into the election and they barely capitalized on it. Without those departures the Republicans would have held the House.

Therefore, Ryan plotted to lose the House

Therefore, don’t trust Romney in the Senate even a little bit
