Elizabeth Warren might have actually made things worse with her DNA gambit
CNN ^ | Updated 10:13 AM ET, Tue October 16, 201 | Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large

(CNN)Twenty-four hours after Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren shocked the political world with a five-minute video (and a mountain of documentation) aimed at putting to bed the controversy over her claims of Native American heritage, it's becoming increasingly clear the strategy amounts to a swing and a miss.

Warren's goal was to take the issue of her heritage off the table for nervous Democrats and to show that she was ready, willing and able to stand up to President Donald Trump if and when the time came that she was the party's nominee against him in 2020. The problem is that, when you strip away all of the glitz of her well-produced video, you are left with this: There's still no certainty that Warren is, in any meaningful way, Native American.

Yes, Stanford geneticist Carlos Bustamante tells Warren in the video that "the facts suggest that you absolutely have a Native American ancestor in your pedigree." But the estimates of just how much Native American blood Warren actually posses range from 1/64th to a whopping 1/1024th. Which, um, ain't a lot.

Fred: Two men tried to rob me outside the house.
Lamont: Were they colored?
Fred: Yeah, white!

How is it that Elizabeth Warren has no one with on ounce of sense in her staff? Democrats are all evil, but there are intelligent people who love power and control over others. She should have at least a few smart minions in a position to stop her from doing exceptionally stupid things.

She has completely surrounded herself with sycophants.

No one who isn't a complete suck-up is allowed anywhere near her.

Well, it has been so ridiculed that Warren probably unintentionally ended her 2020 Presidential aspirations.

Elizabeth Warren simply got outsmarted by the Donald, he sprung a strap and she stepped right into it.

One-drop Rule

The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States asserting that any person with even one ancestor of sub-Saharan African ancestry (”one drop” of black blood)[1][2] is considered black (Negro in historical terms), its implications of racial purity being that anyone unable to pass for white in the context of the US racial hierarchy is assigned the lower status of being non-white or colored.

This concept evolved over the course of the 19th century and became codified into the law of some states in the early 20th century. It was associated with the principle of “invisible blackness” and is an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status.[3]......

It is a sad day for the Republic and for the truth when a prominent member of the (D) party invokes a rule that was originally designed to segregate, suppress and enslave people in order to advance her appeal as a candidate for President. What does this say for the people, especially for those in the media, who cheer her announcement of a DNA test?

Little bits of a song keep repeating in my head...Lizzie Warren came to town, riding on a pony, stuck a feather in her cap and called it....a Cherokee Indian Headress and I’m a native American.

Now Harvard needs to be investigated. It goes well with the current court case.

Tribes vary in their requirements, some require 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 or 1/16th.

Some tribes like the Cherokee Nation, require documented proof of descent.

“It’s the Cherokee Nation’s statement that ruined her. They don’t want her either”

I’m very, very proud of them for making this quick public response, but of course Cherokees are a proud people, And Elizabeth Warren is a self-dealing FRAUD.

Mr. Diehl has just seen his prospects move from nonexistent to remote.

It would be delicious if Mrs. Warren shot herself down in flames with this stunt. Unlikely, but it would be wonderful.

Yes, you’re quite correct, that’s EXACTLY what she should have done. Any sensible person would have handled it that way.

This seems to be the Dem Party’s new playbook (it was the heart of the Kavannaugh smear): WE DON’T CARE WHETHER IT’S TRUE OR NOT!

“the issue of her heritage”

It’s the attempted abuse of affirmative action by making a mainly false heritage claim that seems to me to be the problem.

Does she have an American Indian ancestor? Probably.

Is she an “American Indian” and therefore entitled to get a million dollars out of Donald Trump? No.

CNN may be (is) a Democratic party support organization, but that doesn’t mean that this particular section of CNN supports that particular candidate.
There are probably a dozen or so candidate support groups in CNN. The first thing you need to do is destroy the opposition on your own side. Then you can continue to attack the other side.
