Lesley Stahl’s interview with Trump was an undeniable get; he’d been scarce on mainstream media since around the time he appeared on tape with NBC’s Lester Holt and indicated he’d fired former FBI Director James Comey in part due to the Russia investigation.
But the interview seemed governed by two motives, both of which played into the hands of a media-savvy President whose refusal to play by typical rules of engagement has been at the center of his rise.

Best opportunity missed was the Greenland question. Greenland has been gaining ice at a record pace and now stands far above the 30 year mean.
Trump should have said “Greenland used to be green, Leslie, and now it’s yuuge pile of ice. Be sure t let me know when the Vikings set up their vineyards again!”

Lesley Stahl’s unbelievably rude treatment of the President of the United States, the LEADER of the free world, is much more indicative of her extreme lack of protocol and outrageous behavior than any possible negative image she and her trainers thought they were showing of Trump. Meanwhile, he showed HER home it’s done! She looked like a childish, impudent fool, while he came out smelling like a rose.
More proof that Trump plays Grandmaster-level political chess while everyone else plays political tic-tac-toe. :-)

Leslie scolded Trump for saying China was more of an issue than Russia in elections and other things. I suppose if the news media did their jobs she would know this.

I remember when Donald Trump was considered one of them. The NYC Liberals loved him and they really loved his Money.
Conservatives liked him even though he was just considered another Wealthy NYC Liberal. There was no hated of him from our side. He was applauded for his success.
Now that the dynamic has been reversed, the Liberals HATE him with a passion. Conservatives still like him and are actually surprised how he has embraced many Conservative ideals.
We may disagree on some of his viewpoints, but he has gotten more done for the Conservative cause than any GOP President in recent History.
