Taylor Swift has, admittedly, been reluctant to publicly voice her political opinions throughout her career. However, on Sunday night, a day after wrapping up the United States leg of her Reputation tour, she took to Instagram to share a lengthy post about the midterm elections in November.

its become very easy for me to simply ignore Hollywood and entertainment people who come out as liberals. Of course, it happens a lot, but thats fine - most of modern TV and entertainment is total trash.

She’s been quiet over the years about politics, relying on a generic Get out and vote message. I hope her young fan base tells her, Mom and Dad have more money in their paychecks now due to Republican policies and since we have more more money to buy things instead of when the Democrats taxed us to death, it won’t be your sh$t music we buy.

I think she's going to retire, or at least go into semi-seclusion for a while.
She's almost 29, has been going non-stop since she was a teenager, and is a multi-millionaire many, many times over. She's also past her peak. At this point, she's not worried about selling albums or concert tickets.
The problem. Her fans don’t vote or are not old enough to.
