A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck near Haiti on Saturday night, according to the US Geological Survey.

There was damage in the northern sections of the country, President Jovenel Moïse tweeted.

The USGS said the center of the quake was about 11 miles northwest of the city of Port-de-Paix. It was only 7.2 miles deep.

In January 2010, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake killed an estimated 220,000 to 300,000 people in Haiti. Tens of thousands of people are still displaced as a result of the quake.

The FIB needs to investigate this to determine if it is true or just the Dems looking for an excuse to import more foreign voters.

“In January 2010, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake killed an estimated 220,000 to 300,000 people in Haiti. Tens of thousands of people are still displaced as a result of the quake”, But the Clintons are still doing fine.

The only time Haiti ever had a government worth its salt was when it was briefly ruled by the US military. They about drove the Haitians nuts because they would not be corrupt, required fair value for a fair price, had strong and effective laws that were enforced, and did much to rebuild what they could.

The overall result, however, was much like sweeping ants into a pile.

There is and has been a good bit of volcanic activity in the Caribbean, most recently on Monserrat, but Guadeloupe blew its stack about 170 years ago. But as you know, mere volcanism, pffft! ;^)
10 Underwater Cities You Won't Believe Exist: #5 Port Royal, Jamaica -- Known by most for its popularity gained by its prominent location role in Pirates of the Caribbean, this historic city does, in fact, have a history of piracy. Upon its founding, the city offered a safe haven for pirates. It also had a history of prostitution and every manner of thing that was deeply frowned upon during that time and place. The reputation that it gained from this led to the name, "The Wickedest City on Earth". An earthquake in 1692, however, sunk most of the city and killed a good portion of the cities residents. The city was mostly abandoned, with just 2,000 citizens left. The underwater portion of the city has become an important archeological site recently, with excavations being done since 1981. There is a hope of rebuilding the city because of the historical significance. Today, the city is known as the city that sank to archaeologists.

Yes indeed! Bill Clinton is there to scoop up all the nubile fifteen year-old girls and take them to his Mile High Club. Too bad Old Bushie is too senile and crippled to join him this time.
