WASHINGTON — The deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, suggested last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and he discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.

Mr. Rosenstein made the remarks about secretly recording Mr. Trump and about the 25th Amendment in meetings and conversations with other Justice Department and F.B.I. officials.

Rosenstein and others in Justice Department.

There are literally dozens of people who could have made up this story, in the government or at the NYTimes. It'll be down the memory hole by Tuesday.

"The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” Resenstein said in a statement. “I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment."

I'll bet Brennan made this one up. The NY Times considers him a useful, if not truthful, source. Truth is silly.

That was my thought. I don’t think he should be fired. He’s finally made himself useful to Trump. He’s the gift that keeps giving.

Was that before or after Rosenstein wrote that “brilliant” memo or letter listing all the reasons that Comey should be fired?

These people have no memory of what they said yesterday.

Wouldn’t put it past the Prez to plant the story. He likes to play with people’s heads to get them to slip up.

Yeah, that’s my thinking, too. Nothing before mid-terms seems most likely.

At least until after the election. Then we have no further need for him.

He can be neutralized by removing his clearances and and authority. Just sit all day and count paperclips...................

That will not happen.

If the story is correct, he is a huge liability to President Trump. If President Trump waits until after the election, it will be a mistake.

“No, it’s not treason. Please.”

It’s a massive conspiracy of HIGH Treason. Try and keep up. These are domestic enemies within our government waging war against the President-against the Constitution.

That’s a 2 fer. There is no higher form of treason.

Sessions if he really swears allegiance to the Constitution, will fire RR and say he attempted a coup against a democratically elected president and will be fired.

I’m not anti-Sessions as many FR folks are. He is actually trying to reduce/halt illegal immigration as best he can given the Checks/Balances in our government.

But this is a clear cut case of near treason. Sessions must act.

The 25th amendment is intended to be used for a President who is having medical conditions or some condition whereby he can’t care out his duties. It isn’t intended to be used by someone who doesn’t like the President’s policies or thinks there is “chaos”.

This is serious stuff. RR must be fired. Sessions must step up to the plate.

It's called piling on. True or not, it's perfect timing to get the lefties sniggering about it. The 'Times' can now write anything for laughs. Historically, this type of thing would bring about outrage... yet now, 'Rosie' can have a yuck (with a smiling denial) and all the folks at DOJ and FBI can cackle and snort along with him.

In other words, "What you goin' do about it chump (Trump).

Those of us who are students of the Clinton's are smart enough to fire back the obvious response - which part? Answer that and you are dead.
