Marc Thiessen: Ford vs. Kavanaugh -- How much evidence do we need to destroy someone?

Christine Blasey Ford has accused Brett M. Kavanaugh of attempted rape while they were both in high school -- a charge he unequivocally denies.

She can't remember the date the alleged attack took place. She isn't even certain about the year (although she reportedly thinks it may have been the summer around the end of her sophomore year when she was 15).

She can't remember whose house she was in. She can't remember how she got there.

She says she didn't tell anyone about it at the time, not even her closest friends -- so there are no contemporaneous witnesses to back her claims.

So far, there are accusations but no corroborating evidence. And accusations without evidence cannot be the standard by which a man's reputation and career are ruined.

Both Kavanaugh and Ford have been ill-served by Senate Democrats in this process.

Feinstein, the Judiciary Committee's ranking Democrat, knew about Ford's accusation for about six weeks and did nothing.

She never asked Kavanaugh about the allegations in private or in public. She did not use the confidential, bipartisan process that the Judiciary Committee uses every day to assess the credibility of allegations against hundreds of judicial nominees -- which would have given Ford the chance to talk to the committee's professional investigators in a confidential setting.

Bizarrely, to this day Feinstein has not shared a copy of Ford's unredacted letter with Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley, R-Iowa. But Democrats appear not to have been too scrupulous when it came to protecting her confidentiality.

Indeed, no reasonable prosecutor would agree to bring a case. But in the court of public opinion, the standards of evidence seem to be much lower. This much is certain: The standard of evidence to ruin a man's reputation cannot be zero.

The same tactic could just as easily be used against a female.

Just claim that, some four decades earlier, you saw her don an S.S. uniform and crush a puppy under her jackboot.

This is in no way an effort to “destroy someone”. This is an effort to destroy the supreme court that 60+ million people voted for.

To the left, Kavanaugh is a battle in a war for the future of the country. No evidence or facts are needed if an action advances the war effort - and THIS BATTLE must be won at any cost and with any tactics.

Get used to it, because the war will not end until a democrat is in the WH. Even if Kavanaugh is seated, one D has already said they will keep investigating and if they win the house you can expect more of this daily. For millions of liberals, LITERALLY NOTHING is out of bounds when it comes to dominating the courts with lefties and dominating the country with courts.

Scribe 84 is the yearbook for her senior year. Her name was Christine Blasey in high school, often referred to as “Chrissy”. In the image below, Blasey is pictured at a Halloween party in her junior year. The caption on the right says:

“Lastly one cannot fail to mention the climax of the junior social scene, the party. Striving to extend our educational experience beyond the confines of the classroom, we played such intellectually stimulating games as Quarters, Mexican Dice and everyone’s favorite, Pass-Out, which usually resulted from the aforementioned two.” ...

Now we turn to the final sentiments from Scribe 84, Chrissy Blasey’s senior year at Holton-Arms. Page 261 gives the parting sentiment of her six-year Holton experience. There are two relevant quotes. The first characterizes the senior girls as sexual predators upon younger boys:

“Other seniors preferred to expand their horizons and date younger men, usually sophomores, who could bring the vitality and freshness of innocence to a relationship.”

The Holton girls clearly portray themselves as the sexual predators here. ...

Perhaps a local library or Second Story Books(?) has a printed copy.

There are probably a few hundred copies in Montgomery County, at least one of which is owned by a Republican.
