Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and the woman accusing him of sexual crimes during a party when the two were teenagers will testify in public on Monday.
The public hearing could be pivotal to Kavanaugh's confirmation, which was on a glide path until Christine Blasey Ford came forward publicly with her accusations on Sunday.

On the plus side, it gives Kavanaugh’s supporters a week to dig into her background and relationships.
It also appears that the Democrats aren’t exactly excited about this woman showing up to a hearing; and, I doubt she is excited about being questioned by Ted Cruz.
My guess is that she will decline to appearfor fear that she will be exposed to be a lying sack of shit.
If this so called incident could have created such shame and guilt, then what about her supposedly sharing with a friend that she had 64 (separate person) sexual encounters during her high school and college years. I don’t know if that’s been confirmed, but it’s out there.

The smart thing for republicans to do is to say the believe something obviously happened to this woman when she was a child, but she was mistaken about it being Brett Kavanaugh.

Dems may have miscalculated badly here. Even the swing voters...."I was really drunk at the time and couldn't walk well, and I can't remember what day or month it was, and I never saw that guy again, and we didn't go to the same school...but I know it was him!"

"I was never at any party remotely like that in high school, and I can state categorically that is untrue. Perhaps she was impaired and does not remember the details completely accurately. But I know for certain that was not me.
Given that most people are going to view 35 year old allegations made by a drunk 15 year old against a guy as sketchy right from the start, and that she has admitted both that she was impaired and that she cannot remember many details, I think most people are going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
And they're going to think the way this all happened was skeevy as heck.
Except, according to Fox talking heads, treating her with anything other than the utmost respect will be a disaster for the reps. I don't agree, but it's why the dems keep playing this card -- they know the reps are wusses. Ironically, if the dems succeed in blocking Kavanaugh, it will probably cause reps to vote enmasse in the midterms. Dems better be careful what they wish for.

She will give her story and he will give his side and there will be no evidence to prove one way or the other that she is lying and he’s telling the truth. So at the end of the day Kavanaugh is still going to be damned by innuendo and a substantial percentage of people in this country will believe he attempted an assault. But at least he’ll be on the court.
