It wasn’t only Obama, but also McCain that helped elect Trump, both by the contrast of being himself an ineffectual deep state Rhino, but by nominating a firebrand like Palin to energize the GOP base. That’s the real reason the McCain’s didn’t want her out the funeral - so as not to be reminded that they started the Trump train in motion with her nomination.
The reason we have Trump as President is that BOTH parties were hell bent on turning the USA into North Mexico.
We would have not needed Trump if one party sided with the citizens and the rule of law.
Many Democrats that are running for office or for re-election are refusing to appear at political rallies with failed, ex-POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama because they fear he (Obama) is the kiss of political death.

Remember too, the Democrats lost about 1,000 state legislative seats and control of many state legislatures during the Obama era. The Democrats lost the House and Senate in Washington during the Obama years. There are many more GOP state governors now than when Obama became president.
He many have been a dream president to the liberals, but, he presided over big losses for his political party in other ways.

When you attack Trump's supporters, you're attacking him...and as a man who is very loyal to his supporters, he responded correctly.
