It was also McCain who started the McCain-Trump feud. Trump had held a rally in Phoenix on July 11, 2016. A few days later in The New Yorker, McCain was asked about it and this is what he said: "It's very bad," he said. Going farther, "[t]his performance with our friend out in Phoenix is very hurtful to me," McCain said. "Because what he did was he fired up the crazies."

A week later when asked about McCain's comments, Trump gave his now famous comment: "He's not a war hero. He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."

When you attack Trump's supporters, you're attacking him...and as a man who is very loyal to his supporters, he responded correctly.

Thanks for posting that ... I always assumed Trump had some reason for that comment but never knew what it was.
