Poll: Lou Barletta and Bob Casey in Dead Heat in Pennsylvania Senate Race
Breitbart ^ | 20 Aug 2018 | Sean Moran

Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA) and Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) are in a dead heat in the Pennsylvania Senate race, according to a poll released on Monday. A Commonwealth Leaders Fund poll found that Sen. Bob Casey leads by only two points, with Casey at 47 percent, Barletta at 45 percent, and 6.1 percent of Pennsylvania voters undecided. The poll had a 3.6-point margin of error, making the Pennsylvania Senate race a virtual toss-up.

The poll also weighted heavily for a significant Democrat turnout that outpaces previous “Democratic waves.” The poll suggested that Democrats will have a five-point turnout advantage over Republicans. However, if Democrat turnout drops below five percent over Republicans, the Commonwealth suggests it could spell trouble for Sen. Casey’s chances of getting re-elected.

The survey also found that a majority of Pennsylvania voters, 53 percent, strongly or somewhat approve of how President Donald Trump handles the presidency.

Congressman Barletta hopes to unseat the Democrat senator in the 2018 midterm elections. Barletta was one of the first Republican congressmen to endorse Donald Trump during the 2016 Republican presidential primaries and has championed Trump’s America First agenda of building a wall, cracking down on illegal immigration, and combating sanctuary cities.

Trump won PA by 0.72%...

that's 44,292 votes out of 6,165,478...

with other candidates taking 266,904 votes (4.36%)...

Barletta needs to be up at least 3 points on election day to compensate for "found ballots". In a state like Pennsylvania, you can't let it be "close".

As others have pointed out before, why is it that Dems always "find" ballots when the race is close. However no one ever thinks that it could be a violation of the voting rights act.

If the rigged polls say they’re tied, the R is ahead.

Gotta plan for found ballots and dead voters—it takes a while for both to show up.

The necessary D-votes are already baked into the ballot boxes. /sarc

Philly may not show up at 110% in the black neighborhoods this time.

This isn't on anybody's radar but I'm thinking that the MA senate seat is up for grabs this year.

I put my ear to the ground and I hear thundering hoofs coming for the scalp of one Liz'beth Warren.

Dead heat means a Rat win in PA. Fraud will take care of that.

.
If they say its a “dead heat,” the Republican is in the lead significantly.

Two in one day. Earlier today, we learned that Senator Smith of Minnesota is not a shoo-in and now Casey is going to have to work hard to keep his seat. Both are probably still favored, but the media have been telling us that these races were over and would lead the way to the inevitable Blue Wave. Perhaps we are starting to hear that the people may not agree with the media and the pundits. The state of Pennsylvania is full of hard core Democrats who broke with this corrupt party and voted for Trump. Why in the world would these people turn back to the Democrats? They won’t, and many of their neighbors will join them. Read about how the South turned from the Democrats to the Republicans. It didn’t happen over night, but once it started, it never stopped.

THIS statement is the meat of the article. Significant if Trump continue to gain the support from African Americans. And I think he will. Once AA see that Trump has the approval from their own community, I think more of them will openly voice their own support.

Republicans don't even need to flip those AA votes, if the Dem voter turn out is low, “they” can't cheat their way to election victory. So next time the Dems turn out ‘boxes and boxes of previously uncounted ballots’ esp. from heavily minority precincts, maybe they will speak up and turn against them

I don’t buy this poll for one iota, and I called PA and the Midwest for Trump long before Election Day.

I don’t see anything on the ground here to make me believe that Casey & Wolf won’t win easy re-election.

47 to 45 is a dead heat when the Republican has 47.

I hope the president holds more rallies in Pennsylvania to help Barletta.

No need for a whispering campaign, Barletta’s stance on illegal immigration is well known throughout the state.....and elsewhere.

Woah, this is a huge shift, Casey had been far ahead in previous polls.

Tell me this poll isn’t full of it!

Well, that’s discouraging. But other polls from June do show a 15-16 point lead by Casey, so you’re probably being realistic.

Still, the #walkaway campaign has been building since then, and the Dems have been going leftward with a vengeance, so maybe we can hope there’s something to this recent poll?
