Police in Portland, Oregon declared a civil disturbance on Saturday after counter-protesters from Antifa showed up at a downtown Patriot Prayer rally and threw projectiles at the police, resulting in the deployment of flash grenades.

I left in 1995 after @20 years there...it was heading downhill then.
Right after the micro-breweries and farm-to-table restaurants opened.
Some incredibly cowardly behavior by the antifa has been captured on video.
I don't think the FR really supports embedded video, so I'm just going to post the link to his Twitter account, and suggest you go watch the videos there if you are interested.

"The Oregonian" newspaper reporter got hit in the head with a bottle thrown by antifa. He went to hospital, and is OK.

Portland Police (via twitter): Because of events occurring near Waterfront Park, officers will only respond to emergency calls for service in the City of Portland. Officers will not respond to non-emergency calls at this time.
CCW is not going to help in this situation.
You shoot one of these dudes with a handgun you are going down, hard. You will be arrested, tried, convicted, and sent away for a long,. long time.
When the shooting starts, it will be from a long way away, done by people who can make a thousand yard shot and be gone before anybody knows that there WAS a shot.
Horseshit! Oregon grew it’s own assholes that are to California’ as pitbulls are to poodles! I was in Portland over decade ago and it was sewer then, I felt safer in Oakland, and Oakland is a pit!
The Portlandia stuff didn’t help, and “Keep Portland Weird” and stuff like that. First it got its hippie rep and then the real phonies with too much time on their hands moved in.
I don’t think that guy who hit the patriot knew what he was doing. The trouble with guys who haven’t had any training. Something metal like that could kill someone, brain-injure at the least.
