Well, yes, he did, and that's a point I've found myself making to my liberal friends lately - the working class isn't invisible, and they don't have to make a pilgrimage to Omaha to find it, it's all around them. If by election time it's still a mystery to them why "those people" voted for Trump, we have a real gulf in communication here.
You could see this on election night - entire panels of haughty libs in thousand-dollar suits complaining that the working and middle classes didn't vote for Hillary because they were just too dumb. Not one clue that this sort of hauteur reaches the living rooms of "those people" every day through the television, or the effect that it has. Not a glimmer about the resentment it evokes. Just an institutional disdain that appears to be entirely un-self-aware. Amazing.
The only thing this tells us about America is, we still have a small group that considers itself our ruling class and regards us as ignorant, uneducated, gullible serfs. Thanks Hojczyk.
Thats how he got to BE a billionaire.
There is no substitute for getting out there and talking to people.
There is always Motel 8 then. Both those number represent the price per night just a few years back.
Whatever ...
Good line from Fight Club (a movie about what happens when the working class gets too alienated and fed up)
When I was a young kid I slept in rest areas and showered in truck stops and streams when On The Road

Because Massachusetts is a small state, I have trouble picturing anywhere the students can go in it that is far enough to escape the liberal influence of Boston. They should have gone at least to rural, upstate New York for a more accurate picture. Here in Kentucky they would experience full-blown culture shock if they visit any part of the state besides Louisville, Frankfort and Lexington!
Salena Zito - interesting person... Thanks for posting.
Urban leftists (in and out of media and teaching) are going to be eight years closer to death (or dead) by the time President Trump leaves office, and I don't expect another party swap for the White House.
