Anthony Bourdain—What the Media Eulogies Left Out
townhall.com ^ | 6/16/2018 | Humberto Fontova

In brief, Antony Bourdain wore his “anti-corporate hipness” on his shirtsleeve, always smirking and snarking that “evil corporations” and “crass commercialism” repelled him.

But he gleefully signed on as a shameless tourism agent for the Castro-Family-and-Military Crony-Crime Syndicate, a thieving, murdering criminal-corporate empire that makes the Mafia look like Boy Scouts of America.

“I will never eat in his (Donald Trump’s) restaurant. I have utter contempt for him, utter and complete contempt… I’m not going. I’m not going.” (Anthony Bourdain, Eater.)

I’m Italian and I am embarrassed by the Cuomo Family.
I had more respect for the Gotti Family.

Certainly there were no veterans with PTSD that committed suicide that day. We would have heard about that right?

So CNN including Anthony Bourdain is fake news.

Who could've believed otherwise.

I have always disliked this creep from the very beginning. I would never eat in any place he recommended. I found him a poor choice to represent an American when in foreign countries.

I know a guy who this past winter took a cruise with his wife and had a stop in Cuba.

So they went on a paid tour of Havana with a paid propagandist. He said it is not the vacation paradise liberals say it is.....

As a side note, when you convert your American dollars to Cuban currency, the govt. charges 13% of whatever you are converting. Then when you convert it back, they take another 13%..........

Oh, he had such disdain for popular cooks like Deen and Rachel Ray - both of whom are actually good cooks. That Deen’s show jumped the shark is one thing; before that, in her earlier Food Network shows, she was a fabulous baker and cook.

liked watching Bourdain’s Shows, both the earlier Travel Channel ones and the recent CNN ones. His way of talking and his mannerisms mirrored a Friend of mine who recently passed away. I found the similarities uncanny.

That being said, I marveled how Bourdain was loved by Liberal types, even after he slaughtered two Pigs on Camera, one using a Pistol and the other being stabbed to death. (The episode where a Lamb (or Goat) was slaughtered with a Knife never showed the gruesome details, just the Feast afterwards)

The same folks who had no issue with Bourdain’s participation in Animal Slaughter were the same ones who were repulsed by watching Sarah Palin and her Family out Hunting on her short lived Outdoor Show.

...
Liberals always want their $$$ but want to take everyone else’s and give it to whim they think deserves it...but they deserve their own, and are exempt from their beloved communist principles. Arrogant, hareful elitists.

Because his atheistic and hedonistic lifestyle is more news worthy that the Trump administration arresting over 2000 pedophiles, denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula, or their being more jobs available in the country than we have people to fill them...........

His bastardizing of bible scripture as a lifestyle choice did not impress me.

I pray he found Jesus before his last breath.

The first show of the current season was about his visit to West Virginia. I don't have cable, but I found it on the Internet.

It's extremely well done, and amazingly respectful, and comes down solidly on the side of West Virginia deplorables and not New York limousine liberals. It is quite well done and shows West Virginia close to the way it really is. It is amazing the strong defense Bourdain puts up for the people, and politics and culture he encountered.

It is marred by one thing. The production was done and in the can, but before it could be broadcast, CNN made Bourdain insert a minute of pablum about the Las Vegas and Parkland shooting.

The reason for this is that Bourdain was OK with West Virginia gun culture and even had a "blast" himself blowing away pumpkins with an assault rifle.

Anyone interested can find it at Daily Motion: Bourdain in West Virginia S11E1.

Bourdain was a complex character, misguided maybe, but certainly not the enemy. He was open minded, a quality in short supply in the media. The world isn't particularly better because of his passing.

My uncle Johnny-boy. Whose father ( my grandfather) was born in Naples was drafted around 1948 and sent to Italy, part of the post war occupation. We are, as a family harsh critics of restaurant Italian food, he said not only was the food worse than we could make, it was worse than local NYC Italian restaurants.

So your problem with Italian food was the fact that you needed to either find a family to take you in over there and feed you. Or find a little specialty restaurant set up by and for the local mafioso.

"I have utter contempt for him, utter and complete contempt"

He had utter contempt for everything. That was his nature.

What’s your point. I don’t know anyone in my family that would disagree with that statement.

Nothing worse than a liberal guinea.

Found AB to be very-very creepy. Best I can say is at least he’ll keep his “never eat” vow!
