With the 2018 midterms months away and the 2020 presidential election cycle approaching rapidly, Democrats are considering how to improve their poor showings in 2014 and 2016. The party has been debating — sometimes heatedly — how to do this. Which voters should they target? How should Democrats target them?
But here’s what’s clear: White voters have been fleeing the Democratic Party, and that’s a big reason Democrats are looking to rebound from back-to-back losses.
Whites have slowly but consistently moved away from the Democratic Party. These recent losses are on top of Democrats’ losses among Southern whites during the 1960s and 1970s after Democrats’ support of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Bill Clinton won 49 percent of the white two-party vote in 1996. Al Gore won 43 percent in 2000. John F. Kerry won 41 percent in 2004. Barack Obama won a slightly larger share in 2008, but then dropped to only 39 percent in his 2012 reelection bid. Hillary Clinton got the same percentage as Obama.
Obama was able to mask the Democratic Party’s weakness among whites by prompting record-high turnout among African Americans, as well as strong turnout from other Democratic-leaning minority groups. Hillary Clinton was unable to generate the same level of enthusiasm from racial and ethnic minorities.

LBJ, in his own words, regarding the "Great Society" scam:
"These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference... It’s definitely equivocating and making a false argument around the edges though. It states:
As most whites shift rightward, they perceive the Democratic Party to be shifting leftward.
If he had said “they see” rather than “they perceive” it would not carry the connotative baggage.
and then he summarizes:
This shift in white voting behavior is the result of changes of the parties’ positions and the country’s demographics.
Now I have to ask you what “and the country’s demographics” is doing in that sentence? He just cannot bring himself to tell the truth without hedging it in some sort of “blame whitey” sort of a way.
And through their cohorts in the media they have created an acceptable meme that "white people suck".
Republicans are correcting factual errors about the civil rights movement.
Democrats are saying, 'Vote Democrat!'
A political party that sees whites as 1) The basis for every societal ill; and 2) The cash cow for treating those perceived ills shouldn’t be particularly surprised to find its portion of the white population shrink.
That’s certainly fitting, as you will never find anyone that hates themselves as much as white leftists that have a little bit of money...
Because the democrat party, actually the communist party, has been doing nothing besides taking money from those who produce it, and giving it to those who vote democrat.
He’s a liberal and he did make a factually wrong statement about Republican support for the Civil Rights Act. But he also did point out true statements in regards to whites shifting to the Republican party.
Looking at race for answers is just another attempt at keeping division alive, which itself is another part of the demonrat’s problem, as many are running beta versions of the “Recreate ‘68” malware.
Whatever their ethnicity, voters have been steady. It’s the party itself that is fleeing.
For years that party has been steadily rejecting and fleeing from every tenet of former traditional America, while running to their version of the socialist model instead.
And ^that^ is what America is rejecting.
If their party faithful were more honest than a Clinton, they would probably now admit that socialist Bernie, not Hillary, was more likely the DNC’s actual chosen candidate in 2016.
And that’s the other side of their two-faced coin: the Clintons.
Because, even if their party faithful can’t or won’t see them clearly, America knows what the Clintons are and what they’ve done.
We just can’t prove it... or can we?
See, as the swamp is drained, more and more of the bodies and such are being and will continue to be revealed.
Draining the swamp is the only thing that can save the demonrat party from itself, but in order to drain the swamp, you first have to save the Republican Party from itself.
For these things and more, God gave US Donald J. Trump and all he’s brought with him!
LBJ and the Democrats of the 1960’s catered to blacks. The Democrats were the party of slavery and Jim Crow laws. IN the 1960’s they decided the 1964 Civil Rights Act that the Republican championed and the Democrats tried to block cost them elections. So, they started catering to blacks. Today, the find they went too far overboard catering to blacks and now blacks run their party.
Thank you for that bit of history. I never knew that. What about Thurmond and Jesse Helms?
Democrats are no longer hiding it: They despise Christians, white men and people who love the country.
Ha, that’s a good point with the possible nomination battle between male/female minority... I think they eventually go with the best chance of defeating Trump, which is a male minority. I mean female minority voters probably turn out for dem male minority candidate just as much as they would a female. They aren’t going to sit it out like maybe the male minority voter does if female minority is the candidate.

Very simple. This ‘change’ and polarization of the parties is the perfect result of the strategy of the Democratic party to indulge in identity politics. What they missed is that the ‘whites’ have a strong large group who vote as a counterweight to that strategy because they are also an identity group.
The Democrat party assumes that whites who may vote as an identity group simply do not agree with the identity groups that are featured so prominently in the Democratic party. If their values, culture, and economic interests are denigrated because they are in conflict with one of the favored identity groups (deplorables, bitter clingers, etc.) they will migrate to a party that takes a viewpoint closer to their own.

Because it interferes with f***ing their brains out, and their boyfriends dit like them when they are pregnant.
Now the exodus of blacks is slowly beginning. No wonder they have to import voters.
The Compost got it half right, they forgot minorities are leaving them, too.
Hollings from South Carolina the Gov who put the Confederate Battle Flag on the SC State Flag in the 60's - was a racist who stayed democrat - and he did the 'flag switch... to give the finger to the civil rights movement.
Like I said, there are some exceptions but for the most part southern racists stayed southern racists.
Then to add insult to injury democrats flipped their choice of 'victim' using the same tactics against conservatives that they had used against blacks... And where once a person was condemned for saying anything good about a black person (and the rights they should have), democrats flipped it to 'you can't say anything bad about black people or culture' and their 'rights' extended to 'hurt feelings'...
Which was equally heavy handed and horrible bringing about many of the toxic problems we see in today's black community.
My point is white democrats have been thugs and bullies for decades and switching victims is NOT an ethical change.
