'I Don't Want to Be There': NY Man Evicted from Parents' House Responds to Publicity
Fox News ^ | May 23,2018 | Story with Martha MacCallum

A 30-year-old New York man was legally evicted from his parents' home in a Syracuse court ruling this week.

Michael Rotondo spoke to Martha MacCallum about his case and the publicity it has received.

MacCallum said Rotondo has been living at his parents' home in Onondaga County for eight years.

Rotondo said a February letter from his father is the first documented instance of being told he is no longer welcome to live there.

"I don't want to be there," Rotondo said. "It's not so much that I won't leave... I just need enough time."

Rotondo reportedly has no apparent job, owns a car that is in need of repairs and has a son -- but recently lost custody of the child.

He said he will accept a three-month window to vacate his parent's house.

"You've had eight years," MacCallum said.

“I loved my parents and they loved me. I loved them so much I moved out as soon as I could.”

As the mother of five I congratulate you-—mine did that too.

I NEVER suffered from the “Empty nest syndrome”——and we all get along just fine.

I plan to do the same with my kids. They can stay home as long as they are going to school, or working and saving money for a while. Be a productive person and it’s ok. As soon as it turns into slacking off, they will get the boot!

"He has a kid?"

Holy smokes I did not know that from the "news".

If this deadbeat loser cannot get a job and support HIMSELF, how on earth is he supporting his kid?

Oh, how proud must the mother of his children be?

SUCH a good provider.

What must the female be thinking to mate with such a creature?

"Hey babe, I've got my own bedroom and all..."

He must have been paid to be on McCallums show. That or he is breathtakingly stupid to have come on the show just to validate the old adage:

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt"

“Why in the Hell would you want to live with your parents?”

Emergencies sometimes force adults to move back into their parents’ houses for a time. However, living with parents motivates normal people to work hard to straighten out whatever problems put them back there. This guy is an enormous loser.

"He has a kid?"

He just has a baby mama I bet. No way a deadbeat [bleep] like that was raising it himself.

"I don't want to be there," Rotondo said

Now he's saying he doesn't want to be there? Wait, this could work.

I feel sorry for him. During his prime time to work was when Obama destroyed our economy and jobs were not to be found.. Add to that illegals and migrants he’s toast in the job market.

Plus brain washed in school.

God help him

When I was 17 I left for college with a four year ROTC scholarship. After my finals in May of my Freshman year, I went off to Airborne School as a cadet, then came home and worked construction the rest of the summer (as I’d done my last two summers in High School). That was the last I’d really ever lived at home, exactly 30 years ago this year :)

In my family home since 1919 several generations, plus aunts and uncles, had lived together, so I confess I lived in the family home for a long time after 18 because in that family it was normal. A few years after I inherited the house, I moved out of state, leased the house and eventually sold it. If I had to live life all over again, I might do differently but I had a chance to travel and see the world that I might not have had otherwise.
