A lawsuit filed last week calls for the desegregation of New Jersey schools, a potentially game-changing legal challenge for minority students across the state.
But how segregated are the state's schools?
Just 0.3 percent of the more than 6,700 students in Irvington Public Schools are white, making it the most non-white school district in the state, according to data from the nonprofit Center on Diversity and Equality in Education
And that's far from the only example of students of color being isolated.
About 66 percent of New Jersey's African American students and 62 percent of its Latino students attend schools that are more than 75 percent non-white, according to the lawsuit.
While the segregation is not mandatory -- it stems from affordable housing issues and the high correlation between race and socioeconomic status -- the lawsuit argues de facto segregation is unconstitutional in New Jersey based on prior state Supreme Court rulings.

I suppose I’m revealing my age here, but I remember when Irvington was almost all white.
So what are they gonna do? Start bussing in white kids from more affluent areas?
Force home schooled and private school kids to go to these all black schools?
Yeah. Right.
Forced desegregation outside of reasonable neighborhood lines, has more to do with the disaster that are urban public schools, than anything else
And yes, that includes unionization and radicalization of “teachers”
The desegregation of entire districts was another faux elite liberal idea, made by judiciaries that never had to worry about that affecting their kids or grandkids
Didn’t go to the article, but would bet the school performance as a function of majority population was not mentioned.

So more court ordered busing will happen? Didn’t they do away with busing in most places, because in part, whites pulled children out of the public schools, so there weren’t enough white students left to provide integration?
I’m old enough to remember busing.
Didn’t work then. Won’t work this time, either.
Course this could really be about a cash grab instead....
I am sure that will be the plan but it is doomed to fail as parents will simply move to another city or district to avoid this.
Bussing ruined the majority of the public schools starting in the 70’s.

If a school is not at least 50% Caucasian Negro students are put at a terrible scholastic disadvantage not having any crackers on whom to take out their cultural prerogatives. Insufficient white kids lowers the school’s proficiency ratings, too. That is what the liberals are telling us.
Goes around, comes around.
Busing is social engineering. The answer to the question, what could go wrong.
Yes to all three.
But the point of a gun.
But what will they do when there are not enough in New Jersey?
It’s a pity they can’t focus on actual education. They’re more worried about this bull more than anything else. Race trumps education, race trumps laws. I don’t see how most people send their kids to these cesspools.
If I recall correctly, there were two cases in the 1970s, in Richmond and in Detroit, which sought to achieve merger of city and suburban school districts, for purposes of busing. As I recall, the courts struck down those lawsuits.
I believe they still did crosstown busing within Richmond and Detroit, but it was not meaningful integration, because so few whites within the city limits of those cities were sending their children to the city public schools.

The whites here in L.A. did the same thing. And these idiots were mostly libs. Hypocrites. They keep bitching about racism yet they dont have a single non-white friend in their circle.
Yup. The homeys have no crackas’ close by to bitch and lecture about, including throwing the race card.
