Students at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, are demanding the removal of white and European authors from a mandatory humanities course at the college. Reed College caved to student protesters in April after they demanded that white authors be removed from the college’s Humanities 110 course. Now, the course will focus primarily on ancient Mediterranean authors.
Reed College professors have responded with confusion at the allegation that the Humanities 110 course is “too white.” “The idea that Hum 110 is a ‘white’ course is very strange to me,” Jay Dickson, a professor of English, recently said in a comment to the college’s magazine. “It presupposes that our contemporary racial categories are timeless.”
Despite the changes, the student activists are still concerned that the presence of Greek and Roman works will suggest that those works are superior to all of the works that follow.
“As a result, the first semester of Humanities 110 will become actually less diverse than it was before, because all of the non-white texts in the course will be taught after the Greek and Roman content, during the second semester,” the students wrote. “Reed freshmen will still receive the message that learning about white culture is more urgent and foundational to a college education.”

You don’t like the course material, then don’t effing take the course.
They should emphasize the written works produced by Central African and Southern African natives. Oh, wait, they didn’t produce any. They couldn’t write (their cultures never having a written language).
“Fine, give them books written in Chinese, Korean, Hindi, and Thai. Tell them it would be far too white of someone to translate these works into English.”

I predict colleges as we know them now are near death. At some point, employers are going to start thinking “if we hire a smart high school grad, we could train them and it wouldn’t cost as much as a college grad and we would be less likely to get that annoying attitude that a lot of college grads have nowadays.” I personally have a job that requires a college degree, but if someone with a high school degree was willing to apprentice and work hard, I could definitely teach them my job over time. If they were willing to do things college grads seem to think are beneath them (like reviewing documentation of code) they could be useful right away. I can’t be the only one thinking this way.
There is a large demographic difference in the US between the 25-and-under population and the rest; the population is shifting faster than anyone is publicly admitting.
Look no further than the Hispanic/black ration to see it in action; after the 2000 census, the government admitted the Hispanic population had passed the black population already - after projecting this wouldn’t happen until 2010. The white birthrate has been negative for a long time, while the Hispanic birthrate combined with a steady stream of reinforcements across the southern border are rapidly changing whole states.
The NYC metro area is ground zero for this; the white population is rapidly disappearing (because of, and provoking more of, the open borders policies of the local governments).
The way to get “white” authors out of the college is to teach only Kwanzaa and Ebonics in a few African dialects. Then let them try to find a job. See how long it lasts.

What would be hilarious is removing white authors and replacing them with the works of Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell. There would be retching in the classroom, provided such racist students are capable of reading.
