Nowadays, I would not trust most juries to do the right thing. Too many think it’s proper to side with the criminal ‘because of his unfortunate upbringing’ or something.
Losing lawyers for plaintiffs in civil suits should pay with their lives.
I only Rule 11'd one attorney and his client in my misspent legal career. Got all my client's attorney fees paid, and it was a joint judgment against the client AND the attorney.
He richly deserved it. He was a bad actor who made a habit of filing worthless lawsuits and bludgeoning the opposition with abusive discovery to try to extort a settlement. He got a few nasty words on the side from the judge as well.
And I would welcome to be on that jury.
Ping
Well that sure is generous of them. They're so thankful, they are asking other people to help her out.
Gee, maybe the blogpimp should have posted that here then.
Didn’t Clockboy and his dad get slapped with fees for their bogus suit in Texas?
Sorry, didn’t mean for that post to come across that way. I get what you are saying. I was talking about the OP.
“dextromethorphan”
Robitussin is illegal now?
loosing the fight
I have always said, I carry not because I want to be a cop. Much less anyone else’s savior. They can carry just like I do if they want better odds. I know the real assault on me begins after i have used my gun to save my life.
Yeah.
Not my writing.
Clockboy, you mean Obama's good buddy and best pal???
Ambulance chasers take cases on contingency. I would think a lawyer would be pretty desperate to gamble on a case like this, however, unless there are some key facts we aren’t being told. Since the dead guy is a dead white male, I don’t see much leverage even with a bad jury.
I’d ask for sanctions from both the lawyer and the client if I was defending the case.
I wouldn’t answer any suit in this woman’s place. There is a limit and this is it, I wouldn’t let someone dirty skells rotten family bankrupt me.
No, it is not. However, it can be used to get "high". The late, unlamented Trayvon "St. Skittles" Martin was in the process of obtaining the ingredients for a non-theraputic Robitussin concoction when he assaulted a citizen and got himself killed.
Thanks but I won’t ping the RKBA list for a blog pimp.
