She's pregnant with two kids and taking them 3,000 miles to save them

Gabriela Hernandez and her two boys joined the "migrant caravan" of travelers across Mexico toward the United States, some hoping to cross the border. This is her story of the journey, compiled from multiple visits and interviews.

She is late.

Gabriela Hernandez has missed the caravan marching north.

As she realizes her mistake, she also knows she can't let it go.

She scrounges up enough coins to pay for a taxi. Not knowing exactly where the group is, they simply head north, asking along the way in the hope they will catch up with the group.

The pregnant mother of two has never before left Honduras. Now, she has fled her country, crossed Guatemala and found herself in the southern Mexican border city of Tapachula.

"I was very scared. I didn't even have a dollar for a hotel," she says later.

When she arrived with her two little boys, she didn't know whom to trust.

I agree. It’s not up to us to either legally or illegally take care of the world’s poor. If they don’t benefit our country in some way they should not be let in. We have enough poor of our own.

#19:"Why do we want her here legally? What does she have to offer America?"

Bingo! She is an illiterate machine for churning out criminals and welfare cases. She has nothing to offer America except as a sinkhole for millions of taxpayer dollars spent over a lifetime for her and her whelp.

As they pull into a shelter’s parking lot, other migrants and supporters are cheering, holding signs that read, “The fight continues,” “No Trump” and “Viva Honduras.”

Yet they’re leaving Honduras for the United States. Boy, we are a bunch of suckers.

Four people for the American taxpayers to support.

And their children.
And their children.
And their children.
And their children.

And their children.
And their children.

We have 50 million citizens already in our society in the same boat who need charity every bit as desperately.

If "it's "the right thing to do," is it sustainable to solve the problem worldwide??

I know for a fact that American groups of medical and engineering professionals, volunteers constantly in all of Latin America providing free medical and engineering solutions for their medical problems, their dangerous and unhealthy water, food and housing supply. And the gratitude we get in return is an invasion of nasty diseases, and illiterate criminals who all breed like rabbits.

Private volunteering is compassionate charity, coerced demand by way of threat of invasion is unconditionally unacceptable.

Yes, it is that simple.

If we can't save them all, let's concentrate on our own. But let's do it voluntarily, not through the boot of government, by rich grafting, elected criminals with self-granted outrageous salaries and retirement benefits, who make a lifetime job out of self-serving "public service."

Liberals NEVER like being told they are irresponsible, and if they can’t afford to raise a family to NOT have sex/children. They’d get defensive by saying, “How dare you to tell me how to live my live, raise my kids!!!!!”

I don’t care. We cannot adopt every stray dog. Stay home and fix your own country, lords knows we send enough aid to make that happen.

Where are all the progressives calling for her to have an abortion? It’s imperative that women here be allowed to have one but they never suggest an invader have one.

Not one word about why Gabriela left Guatemala in the first place, that I saw.

Poverty? Natural human condition. Life expectancy in Guatemala is 72 years. That’s pretty good, they seem to have solved hunger and infectious disease.

Gangs, violence and corruption? Every single immigrant group we have had has brought their culture with them.

Progressives only want white babies aborted just like they only want white men feminized.

You'll never hear a progressive criticize a brown or black woman for having so many kids, or their men for exhibiting "toxic masculinity."

IF she gets in here for some awful reason a condition ought to be sterilization and maintaining a job.

But she’s from a culture that didn’t prepare her to survive on her own in a 1st world country. Why can’t the Central Americans fix their countries?? Are they too stupid, too corrupt? Don’t they have enough natural resources? What is wrong with them?

Missed the key reasons, buried deep. Honduran citizen, through Guatemala, violent husband, gang threatening to kill her child.

Guatemala and then Mexico are the first countries she entered, the places she is supposed to seek refuge. They speak her language there, and their culture is closer to her own.

WTF is Mexico grandstanding for? It’s slacking on its human rights obligations to refugees.

Or, they would form private mutual support communities, or find other private help, which would be okay as well.

What is going on in Guatemala that has decayed to the point where the children will not survive. I bet if it’s even close to that bad, it’s their government.

Let many private efforts flourish. Let a thousand flowers bloom. But why does a corrupt government in one place have to be counterbalanced by someone else’s welfare state. Seems to me that is two ways to go bad.
