Good experience. Our guys have been operating in a benign ECM environment for quite a while.

Getting some real world experience having that free comm operating denied is valuable.

Let us try to get this understood correctly.....the CIA backed ISIS is being attacked by the US backed Kurds and good guy Syrian Rebels but they can’t do their jobs because of the ‘bad guy’ Russians?

Is that the latest false narrative being peddled....?

The Navy has also been training more thoroughly with old fashioned ocean navigation methods for a few years (public news re. sextants and the like). I taught reserve component soldiers to do land nav among other things around 25 years ago. All ready to go *back* in time to the future. ;-)

I don’t know if I’ve said it here, but I do not believe all these military ship and aircraft accidents are pilot fault. I’ve thought, all along, that they were hacked, and the government is not letting us know.
....and no, my tin foil hat does not need reconfiguring.

The most useful and mystifying land-nav hack I ever performed was to locate the precise location of our patrol on a map by shooting a pair of back-azimuths to a pair of known mountain peaks.

“That’s great, kid! Don’t get cocky!”

I don’t think you’re alone in that. Some actor may have performed some electronic mischief. But in the two incidents I’m familiar with about ship collisions, the stories lead me to think they could have been avoided if an attentive watch were active on deck.

We’re too reliant on our gadgets and gizmos!

Mission Accomplished. Now bring the troops home.

This is the story, and it is a very big deal - rest is one paragraph:

“The head of the U.S. military’s Special Operations Command said Wednesday that Air Force gunships, needed to provide close air support for American commandos and U.S.-backed rebel fighters in Syria, were being “jammed” by “adversaries.”

“Calling the electronic warfare environment in Syria “the most aggressive” on earth, Army Gen. Tony Thomas told an intelligence conference in Tampa that adversaries “are testing us every day, knocking our communications down, disabling our AC-130s, etc.”

“Thomas’ remarks, which were first reported by the website The Drive, come on the heels of reports that Russian forces are jamming U.S. surveillance drones flying over the war-torn nation.

“An Air Force AC-130 gunship was among the U.S. military aircraft used to kill dozens of Russian mercenaries in Syria in early February. The Pentagon said the mercenaries attacked an outpost manned by American commandos and U.S.-backed fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), comprising Syrian Kurdish and Arab fighters.”

Lol.. you clarified this quite a bit. Might I add, the Syrian gas pipeline? This pipeline made news a few years ago because Europeans were freezing. So why are We there fighting Russia? I haven’t complexly understoood the Israel angle either.
Let Europe fight for its own pipeline and we can use that money to build a durn wall. Or is that too logical for the impotent obamacare enablers we have elected?

Once I see US-backed, it turns my stomach over. Why are we supporting terrorists again?

American commandos and U.S.-backed fighters

Where is the declaration of war?

Isn't it past time to stop the Global Luciferian War on Earth?

President Trump need to practice some serious mindfulness and realize that, if he is worried about the November elections or possibly 2020, he needs to just forget it.
Mr. President, you are here in your position for “such a time as this,” according to the Word of God, and you need to focus on what needs to be addressed right now, instead of looking into the next day that is not even promised to us. Or the next few months, or years.

Then you haven't read the reports backed by evidence. Incompetent human actions were the root cause in every incident. In the case of the McCain it was breathtaking stupid.
