Why Hasn't the Info on Weiner's laptop been released?

Last weekend Comey said that he wished that Anthony Weiner had never been born. Why? Because the information on the Weiner laptop had the NYC FBI field office up in arms. They forced Comey to reopen the Clinton investigation. Comey said he expected the bad news on the laptop to leak out so he figured that opening and closing the case would sterilize the case and immunize Hillary from its consequences after she was elected.

But she wasn't elected. Instead Trump was elected. Now we have the the New York FBI going through Trump personal lawyer Cohen's files.

But why hasn't the New York FBI released the information on the Weiner laptop?

I raise that same question in the paper I researched/wrote on ‘collusion’ and I came to 2 conclusions:
There either wasn’t any, or some serious heat came down upon both the FBI and NYPD.

Take your pick as to which is most likely. It WAS an election season, ya know.

The emails supposedly-reviewed by the FBI in those 8 days are another matter altogether...

Which FBI? Comey’s counterintelligence or NY field office? NY field office and SDNY both were referred to as “Trumplandia.”

If there was any “dirt” it would have come out by now. Unless, of course, nobody thought to make a copy...

Let’s forget, for a moment, that NSA has all this info but no one has the will to convene a grand jury to subpoena the data.

What the hell are you referring to? FBI in NY was referred to as Trumplandia, populated by ex-military. That’s why Lynch reassigned the Garner case to EDNY and removed the NY field office and SDNY from the case.

I think NYPD did keep a copy - and said they’d release it if the FBI didn’t. Another thread said FBI threatened NYPD, so it never happened. I expect Giuliani has some inside info.

Interesting connection to Giuliani. He may have an in with the NYPD and knowing the NYPD’s distrust, and rightly so, of the FBI, I’d bet they did make a backup of the Weiner laptop drive.

Totally agree. But now that office is handling the cohen files. They’re leaking the info they find as fast as they get it.

finally some real info.

I didn’t see this post back in february.

The NYC field office did leak info. But primarily the list of names/phone numbers/addresses on wiener’s laptop. It was a who’s who of top democrats in media, government finance entertainment.
