When you stand for something you may share a small cross-section of beliefs with others that they will want to hear.

When you stand for nothing nobody wants to hear from you.

These people that believe they’ll only increase their attendance with these policies don’t deserve the congregation they have, as they’re fools.

Independent of your denomination, your congregation are the people who pay the bills and your salary.
Only a fool or a gay activist cuts off the $$$ flow without consulting those paying the bills.

I’m betting the guy is both a fool and a gay activist.

——I can find no scriptural examples to support having just anyone become a part of the intimate body of believers. In fact, there are several admonitions to EXPEL such people, or separate from them.-—

I have no idea why you think I said or implied that....

There are clear scriptural references to church membership, leadership etc....

Nowhere did I say an unrepentant person should have any part of the body of Christ.

What I did say was the Church is where sinners get saved and where the power of the. Holy Spirit is manifest.

Okay, I simply disagree with you that “church is where sinners get saved.” History is replete with just the opposite. (Wesley, Apostle Paul, many a sinner who accepted Christ in a motel room with a Gideon Bible.)

Church is where former sinners are fed and nurtured.

The church lost 250 members and an annual $700,000. The pastor was happy to gain 100 new members. That’s still a loss of 150 members. People are not buying into the misapplication of human sexual biology, God’s most perfect creation.

How can they be members if they are not repentant of their sin. We all sin but we do not look to the church to tell us that it is really okay

The more conservative churches, like the fairly new Presbyterian Church of America, are practically exploding in growth

New Presbyterian Church? Tell me more.

It's "brother," and I wish I could find a good Bible preaching church in my area.

Not blaming the Gospel at all. Just pointing out that very few churches preach it, or even know how to preach it!

Absolutely correct! So many churches today are afraid of “being offensive” and they base their worship on one or two passages. For me, give me the whole gospel! If more people knew what they were really up against I believe they would come around, but nobody wants to believe.

Truer words were never spoken. And I have to agree on your other point as well. People are more inclined to believe in aliens than they are in the Gospel anymore. Once the Tribulation Period starts they will wish they did.

Our conservative non-denom is so crowded that we are looking for another church. It’s like an oven. And 1/4 of the congregation is college students.

Here’s an idea. . . find a Bible believing denomination in the church planting business and start your own!

What the hell does that even mean, except to some kind of vague, cheap virtue-signalling gesture?

"a God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a cross."

--H Richard Neibuhr, “The Kingdom of God in America”, 1937

NOTE THE DATE!

I believe the response from Yeshua to sinners was, “Go and sin no more.”

Modern liberal congregations have forgotten repentance for sin, forgiveness of sin, and the resulting turn from your sin and “sinning no more.”

They have replaced it with “love conquers all” and all is acceptable. Continue in your sins, for nothing can be called sin.

Exactly. Jesus didn’t say, “Now continue sinning as before”.
